MetroPCS lays out its case for and against the AT&T/T-Mobile merger
June 3, 2011/
MetroPCS took a stand against the AT&T’s pending acquisition of T-Mobile. Other small carriers — meaning smaller than AT&T — have voiced their displeasure for the move without condition. MetroPCS, however, outlined conditions under which a deal would be acceptable in their eyes. The most prominent is the divestiture of unused spectrum. While that’s common, Metro took it a step further by blasting AT&T’s use of its own spectrum, calling it inefficient. Metro would also like to see the abolition of exclusive handset deals, as that would be increasingly unfair for a company of the combined company’s size. Mike Dano of FierceWireless has the entire rundown, so head on over there and check it out. ]]>
