MetroPCS adds ZTE Agent

MetroPCS has recently released the ZTE Agent, the latest handset in a lineup that has expanded a bit in the past month. It’s nothing special, really. The candybar model has a 1.3 megapixel camera, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth, and media player with microSD expansion. As Engadget notes, Uno — yes, the card game — is included on the handset. That’s certainly a plus for customers looking for a decently priced entry-level handset. You can get the Agent for $69 at MetroPCS’s website. ]]>

I got this phone after downgrading from an Iphone knock off called the Sprint Instinct. I got very tired of excessive costs and obstacle course of bugs that you must endure with the fancy phones.
This one is OK for a basic phone, but it does have some usability issues, and some are just baffling:
    1) It’s difficult to change the phone ringer volume. If the phone isn’t in the exact right state it will not acknowledge your request.
    2) The web browser does not download website images on a reliable basis. Sometimes it works fine, but usually it will not download them.
    3) The installed ringtones are poor, but you can use Myxer.com to upload anything you want for free anyway.
    4) I have not yet been able to get the navigator to work. I can tell it where to go and then when it performs the process of plotting my route it will tell me there was an error and I need to shut down the app and restart.
    5) When you transfer one phone’s contact info to this one it literally mangles the name field of the contact. I still can’t figure out how it parsed things, and the dumb thing is it had no business fixing anything. Both my old and this ZTE use one field for the entire contact name!
I had this business entry in my last phone:
    Shoot Straight – Cassleberry
After I transferred it, it became this on the ZTE Agent:
    – Shoot
Very nice, and what makes this even more fun is that I had other Shoot Straight locations in my phone named the same way now all of them are listed as:
    – Shoot
I know apologists are just going to blame me for being outraged and demand I just fix it myself, but in the 21st century with tech as advanced as it’s supposed to be, I really don’t feel like fixing 309 entries.
    5) There’s a tool for converting speeds from one measure to another with 5 different conversions, but for some reason the most obvious, MPH to KPH and vice versa, are not included!

Where do get free video games? Internet sooo slow, download takes 45minutes to.1hourrr!!! So slow! Volume either too loid or none. Everything is cramped into different screens. You have to litetally look up apps!!! Call quality not good, mutter, water background. Sometimes drop calls. Cant adjust volume during app selection, u have to go bak main menue suks!! Music quality A++++++!!!! Sounds like expensive speakers, rockssss!!!!! Video quality mix of not clear to clear. Camera picture excellent!!! Very cool music transfer quick, cool!!! Text sent lightning speed!! Love text speed!! Rating 3/4 out of 5! Good basic, compact phone. I Wish internet, download faster, volume control anytime, that would make it A++++!!!
