MetroPCS enhances 411 with Verizon LiveSource

MetroPCS is getting serious about competing with the big boys. Beyond their expanding network and new — dare I say revolutionary? — MetroFlash program, they’re looking to improve their 411 service. No, this doesn’t mean having more helpful operators or more precise listings, though those could certainly be ancillary benefits of their deal with Verizon. Rather, they’re looking to expand the scope of the service in general. We’re all used to the normal 411, when you call up, give the city, state, and name/business, and get a listing. And yeah, you can pay a bit extra to have the call automatically connected — a huge rip-off, really. LiveSource, though, acts as a full information directory, rather than one limited to phone numbers. LiveSource provides services like reverse look-up, weather, sports, and restaurant listings. They can also text message you any directory listing, so you have easy access to it in the future. While this will all come at a fee, of course, it still provides another level of service to MetroPCS customers.]]>
