Lycamobile Ramps Up Data

The US branch of prepaid powerhouse Lycamobile has made some changes to the data on its unlimited national plans this week, doubling and even quadrupling one plan. The new options are pretty competitive and easily make up for the holes in T-Mobile’s network, provided you have enough service to make use of it. Here are the plans that have been upgraded:
  • $35 – 4 GB high speed (was 1 GB) then unlimited throttled
  • $45 – 6 GB high speed (was 3 GB) then unlimited throttled
  • $55 – 8 GB high speed (was 5 GB) then unlimited throttled
All three plans also include unlimited talk and text, unlimited international text and will have 4G speeds where available. The plans also include a limited amount of international credit which varies from plan to plan, and calls to other Lycamobile numbers worldwide are always free. Lycamobile is one of those MVNOs that really focuses on international calling and with these changes, Lycamobile is suddenly extremely competitive with other prepaid brands which offer far less data for the same price. Even MetroPCS–a T-Mobile owned MVNO– only offers 2 GB of high speed data for $40. Lycamobile has four plan offerings designed for heavy international callers. Those plans range from $40 – $60. Pay as you go plans are also available as default if you do not select a plan. For more information or to check out more Lycamobile plans and phone choices, visit their website.]]>
