InfoSonics Launches Its First LTE Smartphone

InfoSonics’ brand VeryKool has released their first LTE smartphone, the SL5000 nicknamed “Quantum.” The phone is GSM and CDMA compatible and can be purchased unlocked from their site for $229.80. They also offer payment plans through PayPal credit. The phone itself has some pretty decent specs for the price. I haven’t seen any official announcements about deals with any specific carrier for the moment, but that might be coming soon. The specs for the phone are:
  • Android KitKat 4.4
  • 5 inch capacitive touchscreen (480×854 pixels) with tempered glass
  • 1 GB RAM, 4 GB ROM
  • microSD slot
  • 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front camera
  • WiFi, hotspot, USB tethering, Bluetooth V4.0
  • 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery (rated 10 days standby, 8 hours talk)
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor
Fierce Wireless has a press release about the phone with some additional technical specifications, if you’re interested in more than the basics. Overall, it looks like a pretty solid phone for a mid-range price.]]>
