Ready for college football? Verizon is
It’s the end of August, and every college football fan is gearing up for the coming season. Problem is, the games are on Saturday, a day many of us spend out of the house. Back when we were in college, this wasn’t a problem; football by day, party by night. But now, it seems that weekends should be spent out doing things. But we still want our college football (go Rutgers!). The people at Verizon feel your pain. The remedy they’re offering: a partnership with MediaFLO USA that will bring you 100 games over the course of the season — plus 20 bowl games. The game will be brought to subscribers through a variety of channels, with ESPN Mobile TV leading the way. The others are CBS Mobile, Fox MObile, and NBC2Go. Clearly, all will be broadcast through VCast, Verizon’s multimedia portal.
“Our FLO TV service is perfect for the sports fan,” said Michael Boyd, vice president of licensing and research at MediaFLO USA. “Nothing beats the excitement and rivalry of college football, and for the first time, you won’t have to miss a snap, even if you are away from the TV.”Honestly, as a big sports fan, this is music to our ears. We use public transportation as much as humanly possible, so as long as it’s not the subway, we’ll be able to keep up with the games. And we’re not talking some text-based summary, either. We’re talking pad-to-pad, helmet-to-helmet contact. This package really delivers, too. We’re looking up and down their list of big games, and, well, they’re pretty big. Tennessee/Florida? Check. Georgia/Alabama? Check. Florida/Florida State? Yep. They even have the SEC Championship game, plus the battle of Los Angeles, USC vs. UCLA. It even has the monster of all rivalries: USC vs. Notre Dame. You can be sure to see more of these sports and entertainment options available in the future. [CNN Money]]]>
