EXCELLENCE all around! I have used Page Plus for about five years-we have two phones. I keep recommending it to others - because - it IS the most affordable, most reliable, prepaid service by far!!! The only draw back is that on a very limited no. of occasions the phone (Kyocera 5135) has gone into "roaming" for no apparent reason. The roaming charges are way high - so glad this has happened probably less than a dozen times in over 5 years. Have used the service while traveling (NY, NC, KY)works fine. For an occassional user, this works and I have no reason to get into any of those long-term, expensive contracts.

Don't buy your phone from Page Plus, buy a Verizon phone on ebay with no plan - easy to find with the features you want. Then activate and enjoy Page Plus's great prepaid rates on Verizon's network, remembering that Page Plus doesn't provide a data service.

Seriously, this is as simple and cheap as cellular gets. I bought it as a backup to ATT coverage - GSM is thin where I live. Yes, they offer refurbed phones...but even AT&T does, and the price is right. Look at the latest lineup of phones they offer. There are four to chose from and they are not cheap junk like the C139 sold new by some. You can even bring your own in, which is what I did (an old Simple Freedom - Alltel Kyocera). No activation fee, 4 months on the airtime, cheap minutes and nice CS people. What more do most people need? If you want new phones, go to Walmart, buy an Impulse and activate with PP.

This place has been difficult to deal with. I initially signed up with them through a Sprint store that offers their service, but when that store closed, I had to start doing it myself (their website doesn't offer a "store locator" to find out where else to refill minutes at). I tried to do it online but every time I tried the online form told me the security code on the back of my credit card was incorrect. When I tried to use the "support" form on their website to report this, I got a 404. So I took to calling them to refill. One evening when I called their computers were down so they couldn't refill my minutes...and naturally they wouldn't be back up for a couple hours, by which time they would be closed. Luckily I didn't run out of minutes by the next day. Another time I did run out of minutes, tried to access their website to get their phone number to refill (yeah, I should've written it down) and the site wouldn't load so I was without service until the next day. Definitely planning on switching...I only stayed with them as long as I have because of price.

I love PagePlus. The service is the same as Verizon but without the Verizon prices. I had service with Verizon and cancelled my contract with them. Then four months later I found out about PagePlus and immediately activated with Ugly Eric. I already had a sweet Verizon phone and only cost 5.99 to activate. Got 100 minutes to start off. The only thing I did not like was that annoying precall message with the minutes left. I called up and they removed it right away. I hear their website is being upgraded soon. I hope so because that would be wonderful. Now they offer night and weekends for .99 a day. Better than Verizon nights only. To top that off, with an 80 refill you get 168 dollars which makes nights and weekends less than .50 a day. How sweet is that? I would suggest anyone to give it a try if not for the 100 minutes, they will even port over your existing number and still give you the minutes with no activation. You try it for 119 days and refill if you like it. I promise you won't regret it.

Excellent, no frills, but reliable service (dah - Verizon network), very good, professional customer support. I am just waiting for data service. I was told they are working on it.

THE absolute best pre-paid... For those who bash... Most complaints are about PagePlus phones... Just buy one from Ebay! I have two of the most modern smartphones, that I paid about $150 each for... added them to Page-Plus and pay about $7 bucks a month for nationwide service - can't be beat! I've been using them for two years with at least 8 calls to customer service - no problems at all (mostly I was moving ESNs and such)

The minutes are cheap and long distance nationwide is free. That is great for a straightforward prepaid cellular plan. This review website though says: Roaming Charges: Roaming requires several dialing steps that differ depending on where your calling from. However, there is no cost to roam nationwide with Page Plus. Well, that threw me off at first. On the official company website it says Roaming Calls are .59 cents a minute, so that is what an extra cost to roam nationwide. This web page above should clarify that since I was not expecting to be charged more per minute for roaming. Other than that, for cheap, good, no frills prepaid service, PagePlus is nice.

Great prices for a decent network when you buy a large block of airtime ( the $80 card .) The website is lacking a lot but the telephone customer service is very good . The roaming costs are high so Page Plus Cellular is not the provider to pick if you plan to roam of the Verizon network.

Verizon inPulse phones (available at Best Buy and elsewhere) work great with Page Plus. Just be sure NOT to activate them with Verizon first. I bought both the Motorola 315 ($25) and the 385 ($89) at BB and activated them with UglyEric through eBay. Programming took less than a minute and they work perfectly.

Great price, great service so far. You have to specifically request that voicemail be activated, but its just a quick call for that. Good coverage in the city in California that I am at. And the price! Great!

Haven't tried them yet, so my rating is whatever. but it's really worth noting that these guys claim on their website to let you bring your own phone!

ALL LOOKS GREAT EXCEPT THAT I WAS GIVEN A NUMBER FOR MY CITY, AREA CODE 803-207-XXXX, THAT CANT BE CALLED TO BY AT&T LAND LINES FROM THE 704 AREA CODE. 803 AREA CODE IS ROCK HILL S.C., 704 IS THE CHARLOTTE N.C. AREA. ROCK HILL IS 15 MILES FROM CHARLOTTE. PAGE PLUS SAYS ITS AT&T'S PROBLEM, AT&T SAYS ITS PAGE PLUS PROBLEM, BUT IN THE MEAN TIME I CANT CALL MY WIFE FROM MY WORK, 704 AREA CODE, IF SHE HAS MY PAGE PLUS CELL PHONE. I GET A MESSAGE THAT THE CALL CANT BE COMPLETED AS DIALED. AS SOON AS MY MINUTES RUN OUT I'M SWITCHING TO DIFFERANT COMPANY. THE ONLY THING PAGE PLUS SAYS THEY CAN DO IS TO GIVE MY A NUMBER THAT WOULD MAKE A CALL FROM MY HOME TO MY CELL PHONE A LONG DISTANCE CALL SO IT WOULD COST ME TWICE AS MUCH.

I've used Net10, Virgin Mobile, and Page Plus Cellular. Out of all these, Page Plus kicks the other two's a**es! Unlimited nights and weekends for $15 a month (if you use the $80 phone card that actually adds $168 to your account). I get service everywhere! Go Page Plus!

Living in rural Tn. I had problems in finding a cell phone that would work (no service). Tried Net10, Tracfone, AT&T, all the same, "no service". Friends told me that only Verizon system offered service in our area. Bought a used Motorola off E-Bay, had it activated with Page Plus for $5.99 from a Seller on E-Bay, & it works great here in my rural home. Really glad I found Page Plus at it is very inexpensive, works well, and the couple calls I have made to their customer Service Dept. have been commendable. The Reps. were friendly, helpful, & knew what they were doing. I am very postive about Page Plus & only hope they are successful and stay in business for a LONG time!

This is an excellent and cost-effective service for people who want a no-frills cell phone and live in an area with good Verizon coverage. I ported a Verizon phone to PagePlus, and I found the customer service to be both polite and competent.

Great for prepaid voice if you don't have ton roam. Their customer service is excellent . I would like to see online account services (all records, ESN swaps etc) . It also would be nice to have other services (data , text packages) but only as separate add-on paid options and leave the inexpensive voice service alone.

I initially had a PP LG flip phone I bought at a mom n' pop tobacco store in Hilltop, MN that went bonkers on me after recharging once. I went back, got another ($31.20 w/tax) and it has been great! literally 1/3 the price of TracFone w/better network and good (not better) customer service. If tou don't talk on the phone much and buy cards thru a reseller like me you pay LESS THAN $3.25 a month for a cellphone, How can you beat that??? Less than 11 cents a day for that kind of peace of mind and convenience. If you yak yak yak, I don't know, but for the occasional user this RULES! For once, the little guy comes out on top! Get Page Plus!!!!!

The rates are cheap but beware with their customer service (CSR) and activation cards. (((CUSTOMER SERVICE))) Their CSR do not agree with each other; one told me one thing, then the other told me something different. EX1: Before buying the phone, their rep told me that I'd get free S&H- but their website and CSR told me something different. EX2: One of their CSR told me that I could access my voice mail for free by dialing #738 directly from the phone- not true, I got charge 12 cents/minute. (((ACTIVATION CARDS))) I bought a Unlimited Anytime 24/7 Activation card for $20; they have on the description of the card that you can call to Activate or Deactivate; this info mislead me into thinking that I could activate the card for one day and then deactivate it at the end of the day, and still would have credit to use at any other later time- false-- when deactivate your activation card, you'll loose any unused credit. (((NO REFUND POLICY))) I called their CSR and talked to managers and CSR, right after (less than one hour) I bought the card, and found out it wasn't what I expected; they all told me that they wouldn't refund me anything because the website said so. So I am going to dispute the $20 charge- they told me they'll cancel my account and never allow me join again; if I sign up gain under another name, I wonder how they'll be able to know if it is me or someone else. What they were trying to do is scare me into not disputing the charge because they'll be charged with charge back fees from their merchant account provider.

I activated an old Verizon phone on the PagePlus network and have used it in several states without trouble! One of the best things about PP is the 120 days (that's four months!!) to use current minutes, then any unused minutes roll over for another 4 months along with the new minutes purchased. And...I think the most awesome thing is that,if you have phones available that were previously activated on the Verizon network, PP can activate any former VZW phone and you don't have to buy a new phone!!! I can hardly wait for our VZW contract to run out in March '09...will be activating with PP and saving a bunch of $$$. Keep up the great work, PagePlus!!

I've had Page Plus for several years. It is simply the best. Verizon coverage, dirt cheap, 4 month PINs, and great CS. Use any Verizon phone including a new INpulse phone from Wally World or Best Buy. Activations are as low as $3 on eBay w $100 mins. Or port and get 100 mins too. Data service is coming soon. Don't let the crappy web site fool you. These guys are just frugal. They ain't goin' nowhere. Airvoice Express is a similar company. They also use the Verizon network but have a $50 PIN that lasts a year. I put my parents on them. Per/min cost is the same as PP but roaming costs twice as much. But my parents don't travel a lot.

I like pageplus. They have real good service. If you have a problem ask to speak to a supervisor. Voice mail can be checked from a landline for free in most areas by dialing your cell phone. The only time is if the Local phone company charges more, this is when you will have to call pp to activate it and they will tell you no matter how you check it, you will be charged. It will still use minutes to check your voice mail from your cell phone. Yes, you can get the prepaid pageplus cards from Speedway, Village Pantry and some independent cell shop. Some Village Pantries sell Pageplus phones that comes with free activation & free minutes(Expires sooner) of course this is subject to change. Make sure you get a friendly Village pantry manager. Sometimes, you have to go back and have them activate the phone (They have to call page plus), even through it suppose to be pre-activated sometimes it is not. Make sure you renew it 118/119 days not 120 day or you will not be able to carry over you minutes. For the person that made the mistake and ordered the wrong card. You should of filled out a ticket on the page plus cellular website. They are the ones that can fix mistakes not the customers rep you talk to, even through it may take 48 hours to respond. I would still try this first.

According to Page Plus you do not have to purchase a phone from them, so I purchased a compatible phone on e-Bay. I thought that activating the phone would be a simple matter. A rep that I had talked to gave me no information to the contrary. But after the phone purchase I was told by another rep that the phone would have to be activated by bringing it to a store ( if you scour their FAQs you will find no such requirement mentioned ). I knew from using their store locater that they presumably had stores in the area. But I find now that most of the stores are little convenience stores that know nothing of activating a phone, or in at least one case, have never even heard of Page Plus. The only two full fledged phone stores in my area that are affiliated with Page Plus are both apparently out of business. Worse yet, I e-mailed their customer service several days ago and have yet to receive a response. I have finally found information on their website about the need to go to a store to get a phone activated, but it is buried in the terms and conditions section, instead of being made conspicuous. So now I am stuck and they apparently have no interest in trying to help.

i am very happy with their service and pricing policies. I purchased activation on ebay. For $4.99 total I got activation and $10 credit toward minutes. I was able to used an old phone a neighbor was getting rid of from Verizon. In addition, their customer service has been fabulous. I disliked the prefix 666 that I was assigned for my new number, and when I called the CS number from their website, an actual person in the states answered within one minute and fixed the problem for me quickly and politely. Here in Southern California the Verizon coverage is great and thus my page plus coverage has been excellent. I would highly recommend their service to anyone who needs a basic and affordable mobile phone service provider.

I dislike the service, they have no text messaging bundles, no pic messaging yet, and thats the reason I purchased the phone, I went with another carrier that offered more of what I wanted, plus they want to charge you 2.50 a day just to use the phone, no thanks.

Dissatisfied Customer |
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST. Page Plus is shady and the customer service is horrible. I tried to call on several occasions and there systems are always down. Furthermore, some so called customer service reps would rather hang up on you than explained that their flawed computer system is down once again. The final straw is when they charged phone for calls that did not occur on the day or time they adamantly say they did occurred. I distinctly remember this day because I was traveling home to go to a funeral that weekend and I did not speak with anyone on my cell phone while I was on the road. When I called to the discuss the charges and other discrepancies in my account log (such as being charged varying rates for calls being made in my local area during the same time of day), the rep was very disrespectful and then transferred me to a manager with no notice. The manager J (no need to reveal his full name) was even more disrespectful (apparently his subordinates mimic his behavior) and the biggest condescending and anal person that I have talked to in a long time. He insisted that system was always accurate; and if the call logs reflected it, then the calls occurred. That statement was very ironic because the last manager I spoke with blame my incorrect balance on the system and stated that they were in the process of changing to a new system. When he refused to transfer me to his manager by insisting that there was no one above him I needed to talk to, I just hung up on him because he was wasting my time. Thank goodness for the internet. Via the fax number on the Page Plus website, I was able to find local name, address, and phone for this company. I was able to contact J’s manager. As it turns out there was someone above him I could talk to b/c J is a lead account manager and not the CEO. Bottom line: If you feel like paying your money to be treated like crap by a company then by all means deal with Page Plus if not then take your money and your business elsewhere. Only gave it 1 star b/c zero stars not an option.

Dissatisfied Customer Again |
BTW, the call records that customer see online is totally different from the ones the customer servive reps see so just BEWARE of this when you call these incompetent people. FYI: Page Plus is operated by Start Wireless, *************. The local number for this company is ***********. Press 7 to get to the receptionist. Trust me: you are going to need this info if you chose to do business with this company.

I purchased the phone to use out of my contract phone area. I had 100 min talk time and used 3 min. when i tried to make the 3rd call the phone told me i had 7 min left of the 100 i purchased. where did the other 90 min go. its a scam, the retailer says get the hell out of my store, your screwed. then i find out from other patrons in the store they all had similar issues with PAGEPLUS MIN PHONE...... BEWARE OF RIP OFF kev in Det

Outstanding customer service. Don't need "their phone" -- I bought just what I wanted on the internet - any Verizon phone will work. Been with them a year and after trying others I couldn't be happier. Signed up through uglyeric-cellular on Ebay -- dumb name but great price and service!

Verizon Wireless has the best system by far. I sell phones for a living and have used all systems. The best part about Page Plus is they use the Verizon Wireless Network and charge a better price per minute. You cannot go wrong with Page Plus. I recommend purchasing a new Verizon phone from Walmart and activate it on Page Plus. You will not be sorry.

Like Mike1, I had a used CDMA phone I used with my former Verizon account. Tried to find a store in area who new how to activate it, but all I got were no answers or donut shops/quicky marts who didn't know a thing. I finally called a Page rep and found out they could activate over the phone, which I did. Since then, it has been just like having my old verizon account back (great coverage, no dropped calls, etc), except now I am paying $100 per year instead of $600 per year. Thanks PagePlus!!

The verizon network is great! Been using page plus for a year now, and I been on the $10 every 4 months. I think this is the cheapest prepaid plan, ie $30/year. This is cheaper then my last plan with Net10 @ $150-$180 a year But I wish they diplay the min.s like Net10 does

PagePlus, quite simply, rocks! Use any Verizon phone (pre- or postpaid, off-contract), get Verizon's network coverage, but with much lower rates across the board and no daily access charge! I think this is hands-down the best prepaid provider in the country.

i have the new camera phone. the free nights and weekends plan sucks. your paying for EVERY little thing you do, text, eveytime you use free nights and weekends you pay!! The phone looks pretty good for being as cheap as it was. i wouldnt recommend it. you end up paying so much just to keep the phone being able to use. Use one of the well known companies t mobile, sprint, Verizon etc and get a plan
