I hope that everyone is having a really great Independence Day!! It’s all thanks to the US Military that Americans everywhere can take the day to have a BBQ, shoot off fireworks and generally just celebrate. So, today I thought it was especially appropriate to talk a bit about Defense Mobile, a prepaid wireless company that offers service to active and former US military members.
In April, the veteran-staffed company officially launched with a series of plans for individuals, families and various international calling. Offering service through both Sprint and AT&T, the company is reportedly working on a Verizon partnership as well.
In order to be eligible for this 100% military veteran-ran organization, customers must be one of the following:
- US Military Service member (including National Guard or Reserve)
- Officer Canidata in a commissionign program (Academy, ROCT, OCS/OTS)
- Veterans (defined as a former member of the uniformed services who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable)
- Retirees (defined as a former member of the uniformed services who is entitled, under statute, to retired, retirement or retainer pay)
- Military spouses or Military family members
- Alpha Plan ($30) – 300 talk, 300 text, 300 MB 4G data
- Bravo Plan ($35) – unlimited talk and text, 1 GB data (formerly no data)
- Charlie Plan ($40) – unlimited talk and text, 3 GB 4G data (formerly 1 GB)
- Delta Plan ($50) – unlimited talk and text, 6 GB 4G data (formerly 3 GB)
- Zulu Plan ($80) – unlimited talk and text, 12 GB 4G data (formerly 10 GB)
