AirVoice Wireless Plan Overviews

  One of the oldest MVNOs in the U.S., AirVoice Wireless has been around since 1999 and has a wide range of plans, depending on what you need. This AT&T MVNO isn’t one we talk about a whole lot, but they are definitely worth a look for their prices if not their stability.

Unlimited Plans

AirVoice has their plans separated into three different tiers. The first tier is unlimited, which comes with unlimited talk, text, picture messages and several different options for data, shown below.

• $60 – 3 GB
• $50 – 2 GB
• $40 – 1 GB
• $30 – 500 MB

These plans also feature international long distance with unlimited calling to more than 60 different countries (see list of countries) and unlimited international SMS messages as well.

Pay As You Go

AirVoice also has a pay as you go option, where you can reload minutes in increments. The two more expensive options include additional bonus minutes. The pay as you go plans have a $1 monthly maintenance fee charged on the 8th of the month. With the exception of data, everything cost $0.10/unit. That goes for minutes, texts sent and received, picture messages sent and received, and international texts/pictures messages sent and received. Data is set at $0.0666 per MB. The increments for pay as you go are:

• $10 – 100 min, expires in 90 days
• $20 – 210 min, expires in 120 days
• $30 – 320 min, expires in 150 days

$10 250 Minute Plan

Separate from the pay as you go plans, AirVoice also has a separate plan, which might be a better deal for some users. The $10, 250 minute plan has completely different per-minute/text costs associated with it. The $10 is good for up to 250 minutes (as the name suggests) or 500 texts. Unlike the Pay As You Go plans, this plan expires in 30 days. Costs per unit are as follows:

• Anytime minutes – $0.04/minute
• Text messages – $0.02/text incoming and outgoing
• Data – $0.066 per MB
• MMS/International SMS or MMS – $0.10/text incoming and outgoing

So, a little cheaper but the balance doesn’t last quite as long, so you’d have to use your phone more often. A monthly maintenance fee is not listed on their page, presumably because the minutes only last a month. As far as prices go, AirVoice seems fairly competitive. I have heard their customer service is excellent, and I believe that it’s US based, so you won’t have to worry about having trouble communicating if you call with a problem. I do know that the company is privately owned, which isn’t very common anymore.
