Solavei to Merge with ASPIDER

After months of little to no information released about the ‘restructuring’ and reorganization of T-Mobile MVNO Solavei, Fierce Wireless reported that the company has released a press release stating that it will be merging with ASPIDER to get out of bankruptcy. Solavei has had a very colorful run since its inception in 2013, with hoards of very vocal supporters and plenty of naysayers. The company itself was originally set up to provide incentives for customers to sign up friends and family members to the service. Incentives included free phone service through Solavei and monthly compensation checks. The company was forced to file Chapter 11 Bankruptcy last summer in order to find a way to pay off debts and since then has done some restructuring and reorganization including changing the member compensation plans, making changes to rate plans and marketing to Hispanic customers. According to the Fierce Wireless article, there aren’t really many details about exactly how the merger between Solavei and ASPIDER is going to work and the details are confidential. Solavei has announced that the company should continue business as usual with CEO Ryan Wuerch still in the same position. ASPIDER is a Netherlands-based company that works with various wireless carriers to provide “provisioning, billing and revenue management solutions for carriers” and is meant to help carriers manage their cash flow–which sounds like something Solavei really needs. As more information comes available, I’ll be sure to update you. You can, however, take a peek at Solavei’s official press release here, and check out the plan options for the company on the Solavei website.]]>
