Republic Wireless, a Wifi-first MVNO, has been on a roll with updates recently, and even added a new phone to its lineup last month. Unlike many other carriers, Republic Wireless is only compatible with select devices so phone additions are a little more relevant than with other carriers.
To make it even better, the Moto G4 Play is an expansion of the popular Moto G line, and while it is technically the bottom rung in the series, it features better-than-average specs—especially when you consider the price. The device is splashproof and also features surprisingly decent cameras for both selfies and other photos.
Here are the actual specs:
- Android Marshmallow 6.0 (possible upgrade to Nougat expected)
- Snapdragon 410
- 1.2 GHz quad core processor
- 2 GB RAM
- 16 GB memory (expandable to 256 GB with microSD card)
- 8 MP back camera; 5 MP front camera
- 2800 mAh removable battery
The Moto G4 Play is available for $149.99 through Republic Wireless, although it should be noted that it is on the list of device which you can activate, and you might be able to get a better deal from the phone manufacturer. Either way, the Moto G4 Play is a good choice for anyone looking for a decent budget phone.]]>
