TracFone Lowers Yearly Data Amount

TracFone Wireless, an America Movil MVNO which offers service through all four of the main carriers, has made a small change to its plan lineup which, unfortunately, sees new subscribers losing a little bit of data.  From what it looks like, the $125 yearly plan data has been decreased from 1.5 GB down to 1.4 GB without any change in price. Obviously since this is a yearly plan it will only effect new subscribers and new top-ups. Other plans have remained unchanged, from what it looks like. Unlike the more common 30-day plans, TracFone has a variety of different plan options which last for 30, 60, or 365 days. The company doesn’t have any unlimited voice/text options, but for users who only need a backup device, the plans can be a good option. Here’s what the company’s Smartphone and BYOP plans look like:

  • $15/30-day plan – 200 minutes, 500 texts and 200 MB
  • $25/60-day plan – 500 minutes, 1000 texts and 500 MB
  • $35/60-day plan – 750 minutes, 1000 texts and 1 GB
  • $125/365-day plan – 1500 minutes, 1500 texts and 1.4 GB (formerly 1.5 GB)
Additionally, top-ups can be made at any time and, of course, TracFone has a variety of promotions that can land customers with double or triple data. For more information on TracFone or to check out the plans and services, visit the TracFone website.]]>
