Which Prepaid Companies Are the Worst?
June 15, 2015/
Here are Prepaid Reviews we talk a lot about the best prepaid companies in the business. We’ve found the best plans for texting, the best widgets, the best phones… you name it, we’ve probably done a list for it at some point or other (and if we haven’t, ask and I’ll do my best!). But, what about the opposite side of that? What are some of the worst prepaid companies in the business?
Turns out, the answer is a lot harder because if you look hard enough, there are bad reviews and dissatisfied customers for pretty much every MNO and prepaid MVNO that ever was. No one is perfect and there is not a one-size-fits-all solution. However, reading your comments and going by my own personal experience, I have a few candidates for worst companies:
- Tracfone/StraightTalk/Net10 – these companies are not only owned by the same companies (along with a handful of others) but they have very similar business practices and the customer service reps are all equally untrained and unhelpful. I, personally, have had the worst time with all three companies.
- Total Wireless – I haven’t, personally, used this service (as it is also run by Tracfone) but I’m including it separately based on reader comments. I’ve heard nothing but bad things about them.
- Sprint Prepaid – Sprint not only has the worst service out of the four main carriers, but their prepaid division has all kinds of crazy rules about phones and such. Their prices aren’t too bad, although Sprint’s own prepaid brands Boost and Virgin both have better deals.
