Honest to god the service has really been great with the exception of a few times were I couldn’t open some of text messages but the longest delay I had was like 5 minutes. No lie. I’m still a little sketchy on recommending the service to someone because of all the horror stories. All in all though its been serviceable. If you want to get this plan go to the Nextel website and make sure you have good coverage before you buy. Never had a single dropped call and I haven’t noticed any difference in the quality of my service compared to Verizon or At&t. I give it 4 stars because of the few issues with texting.

Ok, honest review. Ive had ATT and that was the best coverage/service, but ridiculously expensive for what you get. Ive had Metropcs for along time as well. I love it, but they are getting more expensive. it used to be 40 for long distance and txt, and now its 43. Also the web is more as well. Then they have taxes. However metros service is better than boost. Ok now for boost. I got it in february, and it sucked. Text messages would take days or not even come. Dropped it and went back to metro. Dropped metro again because i was going out of state two months and picked up boost. I bought the nextel i8350 and i purchased the conversion software kit on ebay for 20 bucks. Total purchase for phone to make it work on boost was 260 dollars. 240 for the phone and 20 for the kit. Best decision ever made. Internet is slow. text come in really good now, occasionally there is a problem. calls are great, but somtimes i dont get them. Service uptime is about 89% give or take when it comes to web, voice, and text. All in all its a great deal if you get the blackberry, but for you average users its an average deal. you get what you pay for. If your a nextel subscriber your getting ripped off. same service more expensive

I got boost mobile when I first came to the Los Angeles because I was from out of the country and had no credit rating for a regular plan. I put up with their lousy service for a long time but the following list is everything I hate about them: – Bad selection of phones – Poor call quality and lots of dropped calls – Couldn’t make calls when I left the SoCal area (mentioned only in the fine print) – Horrible website that made it hard to actually even pay my bill The Big Two cases that finally made me switch: 1. One night I couldn’t send or receive phone calls so I hopped on my landline (luckily I had one through my ADSL internet connection). The service rep explained that all THREE towers were not working and that they should be up and running in the next day or so!!! No offer to compensate me for their drop in expected service, no apology. Luckily it wasn’t an emergency and I didn’t need 911 service and had a backup landline. 2. My friend was going to the airport the next day so we booked a pick-up for her from a regular service. The next day we still hadn’t heard from the shuttle so we phone to check, they said it would be there soon. Another hour passes… nothing! We phone again and they say they had come by and phone and left messages and wrung the buzzer (which goes to my cell phone) and no one picked up. As we were making the call, suddenly my phone FINALLY receives all these voicemails from the shuttle company. Since the voicemails came in so late and for whatever reason the calls never made it through I had to drive my friend to the airport wasting $40 in shuttle expenses and my entire morning that I should have been at work. These guys are a joke, don’t get them just because they are cheap, it will cost you far more money in the long run. Get a reliable service that you can count on. ~ Aaron

I’ve had Boost mobile for about 4 weeks now and honestly they are not that bad. I was paying a ton more for T-Mobile and for 50 bucks I’ve got unlimited text, talk, and web. The web is basically for checking email, but the text and talk are full blown. I’ve never had a dropped call, I get all my text messages, and really no complaints except I wish the battery on the i465 clutch would last longer, otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. I’m in central Illinois and they’ve been good here.

1 star is being extremely nice. Coverage area is really bad. If Boost works off the same network as Sprint, I feel sorry for their customers. Didn’t really have a problem with the phone but the service is horrible. Customer service is a joke. I was hung up on 3 different occasions. Had one service Rep talk to me in Mexican/Spanish dialogue even though I pushed the button for English. If you pay the 5o bucks and cancell your SOL. Bittom line there are alot better prepaid services that are dependable. Buyer Beware!!!!!!

Thank you for the honest reviews. I currently have Sprint, and have awful service. I was told by Sprint that BoostMobile works on the Nextel network, not Sprint, and they checked my address and supposedly I won’t have dropped calls anymore. Supposedly. But I read about all the problems here, and am torn on what to do. I’ll keep reading reviews and pray that I come up with a good cell phone plan in the next two months.

Thank You

Well I live in GA and I have to say for the money boost rocks but for the technology, it sucks I have the i9 and it is a lonnnng way from being worth $300.00. The phones that they offer do not give you availability to have easy access to EMAIL, IM, or other ‘mobile web programs’.

All I can say is that you get what you pay for… If you want to be cheap and spend only $50 a month on unlimited everything, then you shouldn’t complain when crap hits the fan, and you miss calls, texts, etc. I had boost ever since they started their unlimited gig… It sucks but I deal with it. I also have a T-Mobile plan that gets reimbursed by my job. So if push comes to shove, then I use my work phone… Screw it. But I agree with the negative reviews… Boost really sucks and needs a lot of improvements before trying to launch the biggest cheapskate campaign in the world… L8er

I recently purchased three boost mobile phones for my family and the service is amazing in nyc compare to metro which I previously had for only two months. (My nephew works for metro) The only con that i have is the authorized dealer in Brooklyn that I visited. Boost mobile need to review who they allow to sell their service. The store manager was rude and was not willing to help me. A gentlemen from boost was visiting the store when I was there and he was very friendly, he gave me some useful tips on how to use the phone, a twenty dollar reboost card for my troubles and also contacted customer service for me to see why I was not able to access my voicemail.

I didn’t buy an expensive phone to start out with, and I’m glad I didn’t! No service in my area when the clouds are dense, when I drive in a lower area , when I drive past mountains, when I drive in a higher area, if trees are in the way, and when I am at home. Texting is about all I do and for that, I make sure I have at least 1 bar before hitting send. Not so happy with service in my area. ::sigh:: Best plan for the money, worst service for anyone living in the far north PNW.

I tried Boost Mobile about three months ago. Very disappointed with the service. I did not drop my service with Cricket, with whom I always have service inside the home. However, with Boost I got ‘No Service’ numerous times, calls dropped, texts slow. Boost does need a major Re-Boost. I would not recommend going with Boost.

I am kind of am in the middle with Boost. I have the Motorola i465 phone and love it. I refilled my account this morning since my monthly payment is due and still am not able to use my phone. And it is true that some texts come through very slow. I also think the phones are too pricey, but since there isn’t any other phone company that compares I stick with Boost.

I have had boost for a year and love my $50 plan. I have used other company’s and my bill only for unlimited minutes and 1000 texts was always around $120 a month which sucked and when I went over, my bill was higher. That got ridiculous and I went to boost. Yeah the phones are ugly but they are upgrading slowly. What do you expect for $50. You can’t beat the deal unlimited talk, text, and web? Are you serious just for web you will pay out tha azz.I have a some text messages come slowly yeah that is true but all in all Boost will always be my service plan. They are the cheapest and I don’t have prepaid. I tried that 10c a min crap and was ripped off so it’s a real bill and plan just 90% cheaper than anyone else. Oh and if your phone is term you just pay the bill and its on in 1 min. No late fees connection fees etc as the others charge. GO BOOST YOU R AWESOME BABY!!!!

Ugh, Boost Mobile was horrible. All of their phones suck, and are very pricey. They may look good at first, or maybe they look like have more features then others, but they don’t. Half of their features either require you to do a bunch of downloading, or it costs money. My advise, is if you want to waste money, and have the worst phone in the world, pick boost.

Boost unlimited plan is what I have and I have had alot of other plans from other who do not even come close to coverage or customer service.I never pay more than $53 a month. No hidden fees or guessing. just go online to boostmobile.com or find a retail joint. They send you text messages to remind you when the end of your month is near. Very cool service and have only one dropped call in 3months and I talk and text all the time as this phone is my home and mobile phone! Do yourself a favor and drop the others with all the mystery and dropped calls. Boost unlimited is best of all.

as soon as I got my phone when I called to check my minutes I was wondering where all my money went .Turns out I was getting e-commerce purchases charging .50 or a dollar each. I turned off the phone for a week and was surprised to find $8 of e-commercepurchases charged. Each time I call the agent works on it and assures me its fixed and refunds some money. I’m down to $1 dollar now and certainly am concerned about putting more money into this account.

We just recently got boost mobile after having had every cell phone company imaginable. We have yet to have any major problems with our phones, we recieve texts quickly, calls are ok (we don’t recieve reception from any cell phone in our home). We have between 2 and 3 bars of reception in most parts of our home. the walkie talkie works great I was able to talk to my husband very clearly when he was at work (over an hour away from us). I would reccomend people give it a try at $50 a month for unlimited everything it’s worth it. We were paying almost double when we had phones with contracts and if we ever don’t like the service than we just don’t pay and we don’t have to worry about any cancellation fees either.

I went from a prepaid plan with alltel to boost because I needed a cheaper way to make calls and text. My phone was activated at a Radioshack in Springfield, MO at 3pm. It is now 5 am and I am still not able to send or recieve texts, the web doesn’t work…can make calls fine but I don’t want to spend $50 a month just to make calls and then pay another $30 so I can text..this is kinda annoying and now after reading all the posts I am a little nervous about my new service provider…

I am pissed off right now. My i425 boost phone NEVER has reception. My babygirl is with her nana for a week!(which is a long time for me) and when I try to call her or anyone for that matter my service is non exsistant or all I get are dropped calls. I can’t hold a damn conversation for the life of me. At this point I HATE BOOST, to hell with the walkie talkie, nothing is worth it if you can’t even hold ONE bar of service for more than 5 seconds! not to mention i too get text messages from days ago! and one i actually never received due to the network being down!!

Who ever wrote this article doesnt know boost runs on TWO networks Nextel (IDEN) and Sprint (CDMA). The Iden side is the one that has problems with txt messages. Thats because the network is above capacity and it creates problems with TXTs being sent. Also the IDEN side IE walkie talkie side has NO ROAMING its nationwide! The CDMA side has a home a calling and roaming. That is UNLESS youre on the nationwide plan. The plans are 50 dollars NO TAX FOR WALKIE TALKIE PHONES ONLY! The CDMA side has 4 plans 50 dollar talk, 60 dollar talk and txt, and the 70 dollar talk, txt and web plan ALL THESE PLANS PAY TAXES. There is one other plan thats NOT ADVERTISED DUE TO NEW ACTIVATAIONS DONT GET DUE TO CUSTOMERS HAVE TO PAY THERE FIRST MONTH BILL BEFORE THE QUALIFY FOR THIS PLAN. Its SIMILAR to the 50 dollar plan for walkie talkie phones BUT THIS PLAN PAYS TAXES ALSO and it has NATIONWIDE SERVICE

I previously had Sprint with good service in my area, but too expensive. I searched on the internet and found Boost Unlimited $50. I looked at the coverage map. The coverage map does not have specific cities and no way to enter your zip code. I went to the Boost Mobile store, thinking that would be best rather than purchase online. I wasted $191 for a Motorola Clutch i465 and service. I told the Boost retailer the city and zip code. When I got to my home I had no service so, I immediately called Boost. They said ‘There is no service in your area’. I responded, ‘Thats why I am calling’,then I requested service to be discontinue and refund. Boost said, ‘NO REFUNDS on service’. Now I bet the retailer is not going to give me a refund on the phone. NEW MOTOROLA CLUTCH i465 PHONE FOR SALE.

This is to that guy named Pedro: I couldn’t agree with you more! I’m always calling to that 611 crap, and I always get some Mexican guy who can’t understand what I’m saying, once one of them forgot to turn his microphone off and I herd him calling me things, in Spanish, something like: penshi, pooto, stupid gooero, and saying that I should shut up and pay. When I said “what” he said ‘huu” and then mute the microphone. I know a Mexican, and I ask him about those words, well I was disappointed to know I was offended even when I was acting nice to that guy, putting up with his bad accent and all. So after that a got my service back to T Mobile, at least these guys are in the US, and if they do something to my money I can get them, un like with boost.

I’m on a $1/day plan. I don’t ‘chirp’. I use my phone mainly for texting as it is the way my friends and I communicate most times. I can limit most of my voice calls to after 9 p.m.(free)and when I can’t, 10 cent/min works well enough. Where I ran into problems and the reason I am looking to change service, is back in march 09 I started getting charged $6.99/month for some service I never subscribed to. I called customer service after checking my balance and I noticed it was wrong. I was told that the charge was for a service from an outside vender. They couldn’t tell me what the service was or who the outside vender charging was. They did credit my account $6.99, told me that the service was discontinued and appologized for my trouble. I was charged $6.99 again in Apr and May. I called both times and was told that they were diconnecting the service and I wouldn’t get charged again however, since they credited me the first month they couldn’t/wouldn’t return the $6.99 to my account. When I talked to them in May and tried to get a credit they told me that they had told me exactly what to do to get rid of the service which they hadn’t, and couldn’t refund my money. Funny how they could’ve told me how to get rid of the service when they still couldn’t tell me who vender was or what ‘service’ I was recieving. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and sucked it up only to be charged $6.99 again in Jun 09. I called again and this time I was transfered to tech support. I believe I got somewhere with these people. They told me what the service was (some celeb/sports news alert)and gave me instructions on how to discontinue it. They even gave me the $6.99 from June. I’m still out $13.98 and not sure I want to trust them and stay another month.

I had Nextel service for over 3 yrs before moving my service to Boost, so I know that there was some service/coverage issues but that is to be expected with all providers. One of the reasons I have the Boost service was to get rid of my landline. It did take almost a week to port my number to Boost, it only took a couple of minutes to do my cell phone. Customer service took longer than normal but I was happy with the service. The $50 unlimited plan is a little more than what I was paying for my Nextel but my seldom used landline number is 10 cents/min and only costs me $10 for 90 days. One of the best features about Boost is if you have a Nextel Iden phone, all you have to buy is a starter kit for $20 and you get $10 of service.

I switch from MetroPCS to Boostmobile, because I love the Nextel DC. I have had the i776 for almost 1 week now, and I’m not very satisfied with the phone and service. The DC speaker sounds like your under the weather. The texting is not as easy as my samsung. The coverage is fine, also the DC is awesome, but the one thing I am not happy with is Tech support is not very knowledgeable. They could have just been honest with me about the problem with their texting service, but NO I had to find out on the web. So yeah that’s the one thing I use mostly next to DC and it takes hours to receive text. If I text myself from the phone, it some how triggers the rest of the text messages and then I get 8 text messages that was send hours ago. Please fix the text messaging network iDen, whatever but too late I switch to a different phone. So the moral of the story is do not get the i776

I just got my Boost and was paying over $90 for my Cricket unlimited service. My phone from them was horrible and got hot every time I used it. As far as my Boost phone I like it so far, customer service was quick pick up less than three minutes but the accents were hard to understand. But I am from New Jersey so fast talkng and accents are something I am used to. As far as the ringtones already on the phone they are horrible and I had to buy mine. There was a wide selection of ringtones to choose from and they didn’t cost much. I love the chirp feature and this phone is louder than my last prepaid phone. I got some cool skins and really like my phone. Also works with my Bluetooth. I am saving $40 a month now. Yay! So all that said I like my new phone and the extra $40 a month in my pocket.

That was on the 26th of May I did not receive my sim card next day or even three days. Ok, Listen to me you all, I WORKED for boost mobile once, I’m a Mexican wetback, and I must say that you all are being trick, yes, because Boost, Nextel and Sprint are and will be the same company, the customer service center is in Juarez Mexico, and guess what, all the people that work in there are Mexican deportees, in many cases, criminals, who have left the U.S. because they ware wanted for murder, some are drug smugglers, and others well, why waste more on that, the thing is very simple, some guys that work in there, can steal your credit card number, and guess what, you, your self are giving them the info that they need to commit fraud, ever wonder were is your money going some time?…. I never like that job, is very stressing, I always got the annoying calls from those Negros, always asking for free credit, dam it, guys, if you don’t have money to support a dumb cell phone, why the hell do you go and buy one?? Or steal one? Please!! Just go to the 7 eleven and use the coin phone, don’t beg for credit, you look so African poor, and also, please learn to talk, some times nobody understood what you ware talking about. If you are going to beg, at least do it in a decent way. A yes, and those stupid redneck’s, you guys can’t even download a simple ring tone. You guys are so stupid, and yet you ask to talk to someone who speaks real English? Well I have news for you duds, they are all Mexicans, yap, you got it. You guys don’t Know how we laugh of you, making jokes of you throwing you fingers and stuff. So be careful don’t make the call agents angry because they can really do something to your life style, remember that they have your name, address, phone number, social security number, tax id number, credit card number, debit card number and all of your passwords, pass codes, and so on, and on, and on. Don’t waste your time trying to take them to justice, remember, they are in Mexico…………

Unless you have one of the expensive phones, you can’t do a whole lot. The only reason I have Boost instead of Sprint/Nextel is because the plans w/ contracts are twice what I pay for boost. For 2 lines through Boost, I pay $100 unlimited. For a contract I would pay $189 + tax unlimited. But the phones suck. You can’t get free ringtones or wallpapers at all. You have to pay for them. The phones aren’t compatable with any of the free ringtone sites. The web doesn’t work all that well. I wish they had an unlimited plan on contract for the same price I pay now.

I’ve been contiplating getting a boost phone for a while so I come on these sites to read the reviews to get an Idea what I’m getting into. As I suspected there’s some who will always love it and some who will always hate it no matter the product. recently my cousins decided to purchase a boost mobile and ask me to activate it for him I had no problem at all with customer service so I don’t know why there’s so many bad review; of course I waited for 5 minutes but tell me what other phone company dont make u wait. I’ve been with all of them AT&T/Cingular, sprint, Virgin Mobile/Helio, Verizon, Tmobile and there customer service sucks (except for Tmobile) I do not have boost mobile but base on my cousins assessment it seems like a pretty good deal, I figure it like this there’s no contract if the phone and the service dont work for you, just cancel it and you don’t have to pay a fee like the other companies. I’m about to cancel my contract now and i will have to pay $200… I pay $200 and up a month anyway for my ‘$99’ unlimited service with Helio, I will gladly pay that to see if the service work for me cause in the long run I will save money just trying it. I gave the rating 3 stars because i havent purchase it yet. base on these reviews it make the decision more complicated so I will decide for myself…One more thing if its a phone problem you have it can be return with in 30 days…Also I don’t work for BOOST Mobile or any other phone companies so this is just my opinion. From another customer getting swindled by every phone company in this country just like you.

Umm, Danielle, the girl who was complaining about ‘old numbers’… are you retarded? I don’t know if you realize this, but the base-10 number system goes from 0 to 9, and a telephone number consists of a total of 10 digits in the US, and since each telephone number consists of 10 of the digits ranging from 0 to 9, that would mean that they would only have X ammount of telephone numbers available. So please accept my apology from the entire from the entire telecommunications industry for not being able to make up new numbers just to satisfy your need to always get what’s convenient to you. And as a rep for a Boost affiliate (*cough, not Run) I can personally vouch for the fact that 99% of the time someone gets roytally f****d in the a*s with their billing it happened only because they thought they would be soo smart and find a way to not pay what everyone else has to, but you reep what you sow, my friends. Oh, and one thing that I find hilarious about Sprint is that they put more faith in subcontracted employees than their own! So, while whatever 17 year old they decided to throw a black polo on, show a video, and wish the best of luck doesn’t have access to any type of billing system that actually matters, I do. And there is good reason for this, as the problems that aren’t your own fault start at the store, where evidently no one ever taught anyone how to activate a phone (not kidding!). For example: Joe Customer: ‘Yeah, I just got this phone yesterday and it’s not working.’ Me: ‘Ok, well, can I ask where you got the phone?’ Joe Customer: ‘Yeah, the Sprint store!’ Me: ‘Well, there’s your problem.’ Yes, I know that programming that second number into the phone a surprising challenge (even thought it will sometimes even match your ‘old number’ [again, Dannielle, sorry about math]), but it just saves me so much time when someone can actually show some level of compitency on either end… just sayin.

I purchased the i335 phone and Boost Mobile unlimited plan at my local Radio Shack on April 20th, primarily for the unlimited text, which I need to use frequently when at work. I also planned to use the phone for occasional long distance phone calls. After purchasing and activating my phone on-line and waiting for 3 days for the phone to activate with no success I called customer care (it should be called customer we don’t care) they finally managed to activate my phone. After using it (or attempting to use it) for several days I found that text messaging is a joke. Incoming text often NEVER arrive, the text that do arrive average 47 minutes to several hours to arrive. Long distance service is terrible my calls are always dropped,.Yes calls are ‘unlimited’ but it is extremely annoying to have to call someone 3 or 5 times in an attempt to complete a simple conversation. I called customer care to complain about the text messaging and the long distance issues and was told they were well aware of both of the issues. I was told that they were sorry, in fact very sorry but the popularity of their unlimited plan had strained their network. The rep informed me that my complaint about texting had been a major issue for 2 months and that they were working on resolving that issue and hoped to have it fixed in May. I don’t think they should have been advertising unlimited text and pushing unlimited text when they knew it wasn’t working properly for 2 months prior to my phone purchase. I was then told that the issue with long distance call dropping was an issue they’d began to note in ‘certain areas’ and how sorry they are. I was told that it started as a small problem but that the problem seems to be expanding in ‘certain areas’. The rep then walked me through various setting resets before sending me a text, which took 6 minutes to arrive to me (only text I ever received in under 40 minutes), he then said my phone was fixed and that they hoped to improve their text service. He said that they had people working on that and I should see improvement. in May. After failing to receive text messages for the following 2 or 3 days, I had 3 friends text me test text, 2 of the text never arrived and the 3rd took 1 hour and 14 minutes to appear in my inbox. I called customer care again and was walked through another series of resets and once again told how very sorry they are and that they understand there is a problem and they know that it is frustrating..etc.. May arrived and texting was still not working in anything close to the expected fashion so I called customer care again to request a refund of the unused portion of my unlimited payment and was told they have a no refunds policy and how sorry they are that I am not happy with my service, they also always make sure to tell me the quick keypresses to use to Reboost my phone, which is very annoying when you are attempting to explain that your phone does not work for what you purchased it for. This time I asked to speak to a supervisor and was evidently transfered not to a supervisor but to another rep who listened to me for awhile and then told me she was not a supervisor. I was told there was no supervisor available,. I asked for the phone number for a supervisor and was told I could leave a message at the Boost website. I said I would stay on the line or call Customer Care back over and over until one could be located, suddenly there was a supervisor available. After explaining the issues to the supervisor I was told again how very sorry they were and that, yes there are text messaging issues and they are working to resolve them. Her excuse for the issues is that Boost had NO idea how popular their unlimited plan would be and that all of the new unlimited users are the reason there are issues. I was told I can not have any portion of my $50 refunded. They have a strict NO refund policy but I was ‘given’ a $15 credit, which really only served to infuriated me. Great I have $15 to use on a phone that I can’t use for phone calls or text. Wonderful, great customer care there! At this point all I want to do is to return my phone and get a refund. I don’t want to use the phone, I DO NOT want to be a Boost customer. I attempted to return the phone to Radio Shack and was told I can exchange it for a new same model phone. I generally spend several hundred dollars a year at my local Radio Shack, I will no longer be shopping there. Boost Mobile is still advertising their ‘wonderful’ unlimited plan and signing up more people, so I imagine the problems will get worse and not better. I feel duped and ripped off by both Boost Mobile and by Radio Shack. Last evening I tried (one last attempt) to use the phone for a long distance call, 10 minute conversation and 3 times I was dropped. I then had 2 friends send me text, neither of which has arrived after 15 hours. I sent myself a text and it arrived after 42 minutes. Today is May 16th and text and the long distance issues have obvioulsy not been resolved. I would strongly suggest that at this time no one sign up for Boost Mobile Unlimited if you want, need or expect to use your phone for phone calls and/or text messaging. I don’t think my expectations were too high. I wasn’t interested in bells and whistles, just wanted a cell phone on which I can make phone calls and send and receive text messages. Text messaging is supposed to be a quick form of communication. A cell service on which text never arrive or take longer than a few minutes to arrive is of no use to me at my job or at home. My initial $50 of unlimited service runs out on May 2oth. I will not be Reboosting. I have purchased a new Virgin Mobile pay as you go phone. Virgin Mobile is the cell carrier I’d used for 2 years before switching to Boost and never had issues with phone calls or text messaging except for a delayed text on the day that Obama was inaugurated which was understandable. I hope that Virgin Mobiles new unlimited plan won’t degrade their up to this point very solid and excellent service. I wish my Boost Motorola i335 had a flashlight feature because at least then I’d have something minimally useful for my over $100 expenditure.

Well i’m not a boost mobile, customer, but i’m a boost mobile reb. well in my opinion, boost mobile is a good company, but there are some probles with the network or phone that can be fix very easy, for example if the accout was interrupted your wakie will or might not work, all you need to due is wait 20.00 mins turn it off and on. due not insert a nextell sim on a boost your going to get enter special code now. that code does not exsist you need to wait until the phone says enter special code now and turn it of for 20 mins. (with a boost sim).

Had phone for four days now. Text and web not working. Calls go thru sometimes and sometimes they dont. Called customer service, lady was friendly enough, had me shut phone off and she reset it. Web then worked fine but still not able to receive texts. Used to have a Tracphone, always received texts right away and never had a call not to go through. Only reason why I switched was because the minutes were expensive (60 for $19.99). At this point however, I am thinking about switching back. Boost service is very disappointing. Thought I was getting such a deal by only paying $50 unlimited use, but what’s the point if your texts nor your calls go through!

Was a 4+ year steady Boost customer. Had to end it! The past 7 months of service has been VERY,VERY poor. Between poor service and terrible customer support, it was no longer worth the cost. ( Tucson, AZ) Dropped calls were happening on a regular basis. Full signal strength ( signal bars) on screen and repeated ‘NO SERVICE’ on screen. Dial calls and get messages that my call is unable to be completed. Digital audio distortion on phone calls on a regular basis. Voicemail message indications suddenly occur with never a ringing of the phone. Distorted voicemail messages. And other issues. Calls to Boost customer support were more often than NOT an ENJOYABLE experience.. The ‘techs’ were usually HARD to understand (accents) and usually reading a script..Only had 1 really positive experience with an understanding lady. The common and only answer I would get would be the favorite phrase ‘Your phone/handset needs an update…’ Follow there directions and same issues. Ask for a manager, put on hold…and get ‘accidentally hung up’ on. Promise ‘we will call you back’ NEVER. Everytime I called in they would claim this is the first time I ever called in about this issue. Never seemed to keep records of previous calls ( or just lying). When I upgraded to the i776 handset, It took 3 tries before I got one that worked!! Great quality control. ( 1-No display, 1-would not dial out at all and 1- would not read sim card) Had a customer service rep tell me that I would be better off getting the new $299.00 i9 phone, yeah right. NOT a chance to get get burned again! I never felt that they, Boost customer support were really concerned. I had an issue with a ReBoost card and was treated poorly. After 2 more calls I was offered a whopping $5.00 credit over a lost $20.00 in there system. I had enough after 4 years, it seems they are losing there way.. I found another carrier..Bye bye Boost it was good when worked..I need reliability and GOOD customer support..Something that has GONE MISSING!!

This is to the idiot that would not give his number. Asking the number is not an invasion of privacy. In fact although you speak of company policy no one has to give any information to a Cr,( boost’s term for their call center people.) Giving your phone number gives access to the first level information associated with your SIM (subscriber identification module) and to the IMEI( international mobile equipment identifier) initially to see if there are any disconnections, or god forbid you bought a used blackberry, or other phone which has better features from nextel, but are incompatible or just plain won’t work because they are stolen and dead because they are block by nextel to keep in legal agreement with their insurance servicer or even worse stolen from a government agency sold to a dishonest dealer for seriously over priced resale. Secondly the real technicians for boost are actually employees of Sprint who get more money making sure that everything for sprint works better. Also with access to your account (found with your phone number) they have a chance to reset remotely all the things you have programmed in your phone such as call filters because your drug dealing friend who gave you the phone didn’t want boost accessing your GPS which they can’t anyway. and still doesn’t keep the cops from locating where you are but only with in 20 feet. So yeah keep your privacy and your phone number, and get no service. That will show all of the offshore non native English speakers happy, while you get no service and have to keep paying money and time to figure out what is up. That with out a doubt shows that you are light years more savvy than those poor dumb slubs that get paid 3/day in the Philippines to try to help you, while Boost makes millions on you and funnels the money out of the country. Bravo, intelligentsia at work, you are so much more tech savvy than they are.

Before you make your decision to be with boost mobile there are a few things you should know. 1. The service can be unreliable at times. I have had boost for 5 months now and out of those 5 months there were about 4 days I was not able to use the phone or internet due to the server being down. If I was not only paying $50 a month for unlimited calls texts and internet as well as the DC i would be upset but it is such a great deal i can live with a day once a month without service. 2. The Text messaging is unpredictable. I would have to say the texts come in and go out like they are supose to 70% of the time. But the other 30% you might get a text someone sent you 2 days later.. Or you might get the same text 4 times in a row. And you also have to download some texts others pop up right away. I use texting alot so this can get annoying but again for $50 a month I cant be too picky. If it bothered me that much I can go pay $120 a month and get flawless texting and phone service with another company. 3. The phones boost offers are crap. I know it and everyone who has boost knows it. But nextel phones are a little bit better. So what i have done to get the most for my money is I have purchased a Nextel Blackberry. I then realized only the phone and DC worked becasue you need a BB data plan to use blackberry internet and so forth. But wat i did was downloaded opera mini(a web browser) that worked with Boost internet and it suprisingly worked great. With my stupid boost phone the internet took so long it wasnt even worth going on. Now im checking my emails going on facebook playing poker all from my blackberry. 4.ALL IN ALL again i am paying $50 a month but i am making the most out of it. I am very satisfied with everything from boost.

Switched & ported my number from Nextel to Boost to save money, very bad move. It is supposedly the same but it isn’t. I can’t make calls out on the boost network during high network traffic, it keeps telling me I dialed wrong code or call can not be completed at this time. Overall reception is good in NYC with full bars and I couldn’t make any calls on a friday night for 4 hours and it just ruined my TGIF. Never had a problem with nextel network being busy or telling my I entered wrong number. Nextel/sprint has a higher priority then boost service on network, luckily they let me switch back to nextel and get my old plan. If you are using nextel/sprint and plan on switching to boost to save money or get more value, you will wish you didn’t.

I thought going to Boost was a smart thing. I got the $50 plan and the cheap phone. I really needed a phone for school and work calls and I couldn’t afford my T-Mobile phone anymore but I hate boost and would go back to T-Mobile in a heart beat. I get so many drop calls in my house or just walking downtown in Chicago and if I’m ever at my Boyfriend’s house I get no signal or a leak one on it. To make a call I have to turn it off and on too many times to try to pick up a signal. I talked my boyfriend to go with Boost and not Cricket (BIG Mistake) and I can’t hear him if he is home. I only get every other word or it go out and cames back when we do the can you hear me now thing for about a minute. texting wasn’t a problem till about a week ago when at 3am i just started to get text messages that were from 3 days ago and one message got stuck in a loop in my phone or on the network for hours. I would delete it and it would come back. I was ready to throw the phone out the window in the rain and go to Cricket right then and there. As Soon As I get the money I will be going to Cricket Wireless or Back to a contract with T-Mobile. There is a reason that I stayed away from Sprint/Nextel/Boost. Sucky service and phones.

bought my boost a month ago from today. First off, lag on text is terrible! I wont receive text for hours after they are sent a lot of time during the middle of the night. the best time to send text is before 12pm. I called and boost told me i was on ‘minimum text’ yea cause it was useless trying to send one. They did UP that to ‘full message level’ , but it isn’t a real difference. The battery on my phone sucks, but i can live with that. I try to not kill the battery by charging it too long. Customer service is very difficult to get in touch with. The automated phone service is long. Lastly they charged my account twice- after i called and asked if i had paid once and they told me no- and account was bounced. They will not my over draft fee. *Le sigh* . talking with bank tomorrow. The texting problem is my only real irritation right now.

I’ve used Cricket, Pocket, Verizon, and Boost prepaid services before, so I’m not new to the prepaid market. Your $50 a month does not pay for the provision of great 1800- customer service so get over it! If you have any experience with prepaid at all, you’ll quickly learn to adapt to the lack of good customer service and use the store if they have one. That said, my recent venture with Boost services has been disappointing to say the least. I thought that with the backing of a major national service (Sprint/Nextel) that I could expect good service and continuity. The problems started when it would not allow me to port my number. Not a biggy. Next, the service area is not as advertised. Inside my apartment the signal is week and often has NO service. Since this is where I place the majority of my calls I am at loss, since I just spent $90 total for a phone and service that I can’t use. As for living in or near a major city I do (Indy), so again, I’m baffled. Next the text messaging is SCANT. I’ve seen other reviews that confirm the problems with text, and again I am disappointed, as this is a service backed by Sprint (shouldn’t these kinks have been worked out years ago?). Supposedly the text messaging is transmitted through the web, so I’m not sure if that’s the major problem or what. There have been times I don’t receive text messages at all (from major carriers such as Verizon) or the text messages take a few hours to reach me. In conclusion, I’m greatly dissapointed! Recommend interested parties ask friends who use Boost to let them try the phone in their own home to verify if they have service. Unfortunately for me I didn’t know anyone with a Boost phone, and now all I have is a $90 paperweight.

24/F/CA Bought the Motorola i776 at Radio Shack for $99.99 on March 27th 2009. Also prepaid my first month. I got the unlimited everything plan. For $50.00 a month. The phone it’s self is kinda ugly. It has no alarm clock, or calculator like most phones do. It is small and hard to use. This phone is WAY overpriced! Texting- was perfectly fine at first, but now it’s taking hours, even days to receive texts. It’s not a very easy phone to text with either, everything’s so small I end up pushing the wrong buttons like every text. It does store a lot of messages though. Calls seem to be ok, I hate that you have to put in an area code everytime you need to call someone. No dropped calls or anything like that though. The only thing I really like is the chirping. Since I can’t text, I can at least chirp my husband when I need to. There is the Boost Loop that’s supposed to tell you where your other boost looped friends are, except is is almost always wrong. It will say my husband’s on the other side of town, when in fact he’s sitting right next to me. So that feature is pointless. It also the the internet. I tried using it and well…it was hard to use, and I’ll probably never try to use it again. I also was NEVER told about the roaming charges. So to sum it up: This phone/boost mobile sucks. I hope they do something quick about this texting issue, or I’ll throw this phone in the street lol.

Ok I have read all the reviews in here and I have to admit I haven’t had my phone for a very long time however for the most part I am satisfied I had Sprint unlimited plan $99.00 a month and after tax’s and fee’s it ended up to around $140 a month. I had Sprint for a year and when i seen the advertising for Boost I was a little excited and thought of all the money I would save @ $50.00 so I decided to try Boost I mean I would spend $140.00 anyway for 1 month of sprint unlimited service so the worst that would happen is I would have 1 month of bad service the best that could happen was I would save 90 dollars. Heres my whole view on Boost… DO IT NOW I have had not one problem and CS was ok Pensacola FL

I had to pay 50.00 to activate the phone only to find out it didn’t work in my area. Every call I made was dropped after a minute or two. Tech support told me that I would have to use my phone outside as the solution. Even outside the calls were dropped, not that using the phone outside was a solution. After a few hours of trying to get the service to work I gave up and asked for a refund on the phones and activation fee. Was told by CS that they wouldn’t refund the AF or take back the phons (200.00). Did manage to get a return authorization out of them and am sending the phones back so they should be refunding my credit card. However, still a no go on the activation fee. Finally the Customer Service supervisor hung up on me though I was VERY nice and respectful in my request for a refund. I am putting a dispute in with my credit card company for the AF which the credit card company says there should be no problem obtaining regardless of Boost’s ‘no-refund policy’. Credit card company says that if they don’t deliver the service promised then they have to refund. I hope it goes through. Altogether I spent about 4 hours on the phone with Boost CS. I don’t recommend this service because if you have a problem it most likely won’t be resolved since their tech and CS people are pretty unknowledgeable and many of them get testy very easily. I ported back my number to Verizon and as a contrast they were extremely knowledgeable, polite and VERY helpful. To me its worth paying the extra money because of reliability and good customer service. Anybody who needs real phone service should not consider Boost.

i had an unlimited plan with sprint (the $99 one) and my first month’s bill came out to $250 for some reason. cust. service said they’d just apply the excess charges as credit for the next month so i figured i wouldn’t have to pay anything. the next month i received yet another bill for $250. why? idk, apparently neither did they. i switched, obviously, boost has been amazing, awesome coverage & uber cheap (the unlimited $50). i was even able to speak to a friend in el salvador! now i’m not claiming boost has unlimited international but hey, it happened! my only complaint would be the phone selection, though it’s gotten WAY better than that initial chunky brick-looking phone they used to sell. i admit i have been unfaithful & decided to test out virgin. ah, how mistaken i waaas! virgin has been by far the worst decision ever! overcharging & surprise fees on a crappy cell. oh, boost, how i have wronged you… but they always take me back!

Hopefully, readers understand that the comments here span quite a long period of time and many complaints are now long outdated. The older phones do incur undue activation charges. However, I have had my service now for 3 months. I have the $50/mo plan where I get everything for one price. My phone works great as do all of the optional features. It is one of the Motorola Iden phones. I live in mid-Michigan north of Grand Rapids. I get super connections. I used my phone driving down I-57/I-55 to Gulfport, Missisippi, and the phone worked great the entire time except for 20-30 miles in northern MS and a bare spot on the Illinois/Missouri border. I also have cellular service through Sprint. The Boost works as well as Sprint, but I get a whole lot more for my money…even though they are related. Go figure. I have my monthly service automatically deducted using my debit card. Best $50/month I’ve ever spent so far. No complaints, absolutely great service!

Boost Mobile is horrible. If you are considering a choice….go with the other guy. They claim no hidden fees, but they reserve the right to charge add’l fees. I was promised $50/mo including all taxes and fees. But then the state tax hit. I should have stayed with MetroPCS, at least they were honest about the billing amount. Also, another terrible lie: They use the Sprint-Nextel network. This couldn’t be further from the truth. They use the ‘Nextel’ only network. Nothing to do with Sprint. Different technologies and Nextel’s technology is the worst in the wireless industry. I can’t even get a call inside a building. I have to go to a window.

Seriously people. Read the reviews. Hopefully you didn’t read these AFTER discovering you’ve been screwed. I bought the $100 phone, TRIED to activate the 50$ unlimited plan only to find out that I have to pay that AND 45 for an activation fee or some BS. I dunno what to say other than this POS is going back to Target tomorrow and Boost will be hearing from my Bank about a fraudulent charge soon.

I’ll be honest before I got Boost I had what is now T-Mobile back when it was still Suncom. Before that I had Alltel, Nextel, Cingular and so on and so forth. When I had the Suncom/T-Mobile all I could think was ‘I want my Nextel back’. Unfortunately that whole credit chk and deposit alwasys stopped me. But then a miracle happened, a girl I worked with had an extra Boost phone she didn’t want and gave it to me. Well I had already said I would never do prepaid again after my horrifying Suncom fiasco but I figured I don’t have to by a phone so I’ll try it out. Well I started doing the Pay-as-you-go and it was ok but I needed more minutes for less money. So I called customer service and a very helpful rep told me about the premium plans. I went with the $60 plan b/c it has the unl’d nights and weekends starting at 7pm. The only problem that I had was when I missed a Re-Boost date I couldn’t accept terms and conditions from my phone b/c I couldn’t log in. So I would have to have customer service do it for me. Needless to say the last time I had this problem(if your having the same problem this will fix it everytime) the rep decided to chg my cct PIN to the defaul 0000 and then back to the one I chose. Just like that problem solved. Well now i have the unl’d plan and just as I was always happy and satisfied with the $60 plan I’m ust as happy and satisfied with the unl’d plan. So to the haters of Boost why don’t you try checking to see if your issues are caused by a PUD(person using device)

Boost Mobile has been great. I’ve had them for about a year. I also currently have Verizon Prepaid and I spend way to much on it. I have the unlimited on both. Everytime I use the Verizon Phone it’s $3.99. That doesn’t even include text or web. That’s crazy. Boost is a great deal, great service and great coverage. As someone who has had every prepaid phone in the world, I would highly recommend them to anyone.
