DON’T GET THIS PHONE There is no such thing as Customer Service with Straight Talk. They may have Technical Service but it is certainly not Customer Service. It took 10 calls over 5 days and 4 hours of my time to get the phone activated properly. They said it was a rare problem but never offered a refund or a replacement phone even though I asked repeatedly. All the reps read from the same script and I would have to yell to get them to transfer me to a supervisor. They did replace the 5 lost days but won’t offer anything as compensation for the time and total aggravation I went through. This is not an exaggerated story nor am I ‘stupid’. The problem is with Straight Talk, not the customers.

I just bought my phone yesterday. It only took minutes to activate, so I was thinking it wasn’t going to be too bad. Then, today it stopped working. Tech support is worthless. I am going back to Sprint.

I ported my verizon phone number using the ST website. Port initially went fine. I was able to send and receive calls for one day and then my number got disconnected. Imagine my surprise when I called ST customer service and they had no record of my initial port even though the phone was working for a one day. Luckily I saved my printed transaction number and they were able pull my account. Since it’s Sunday, the customer service in the Philippines couldn’t do anything other than saying to call customer service tomorrow. If you depend on your phone for work, I wouldn’t trust ST. You get what you pay for.

My husband and I both have the Straight Talk phones and LOVE them..we have had them for about 6 months with zero problems..it is great to know that we are no longer being ripped off…we can talk as much as we want and text and know exactly what our bill will be..our phones pick up everywhere without a problem….I had Sprint and Nextel before that and neither phone had good service inside my home…I had to go on the porch to talk..Love Straight Talk and the flat rate…

I love this plan, cricket and every other plan try to charge you for stuff that you never used and it’s hell going to corporate to have the mistakes fixed. Straight talk gives me no problems, and the activation literally takes no more than two minutes. It’s great and I’d recommend it to anyone.

I purchased Straight Talk as soon as it was available in my area. I have not had one problem with my phone. I am saving so much $$$ every month & can talk without worrying about going over on my minutes or roaming. Love the unlimited text. Love, love, love my new phone and the unlimited talk and text plan.

false advertising about 3 way calling. It is only on certain phones and you pay the same monthly cost. Customer service is very bad I sit on hold for 2 hours and still no one answered.

Love ST. Delivers the basics for a great price. Thanks Walmart! I have had cell phone plans in USA Europe and Asia. I know the differences in service and value. ST is basic, no thrills, wireless…nothing more. Their customer service is okay, but okay is about indústry norm, … this is about value

Did you bother to read ALL the instructions before you screwed up your activation? Only those that don’t read ST’s very clear activation instructions suffer what you say (if in fact you are not an AT &T salesperson and trying to scare off ST customers).

I used my phone for 1 call and the entire display went white. Then the phone did not work anymore. I had to fight to get my 45 dollar unlimited card money back. I had the phone for 1 day. Needless to say I did get all my money back but now am without a phone. I was told that there was a ‘batch’ that was sent out that was defective. That makes me want to buy another – Not! It isn’t worth chancing imo.

So I have the cheap LG that we’re mostly talking about. My first one: It worked good for about two weeks. Then I started hearing sizziling sounds coming from the charger when i would plug it in. The phone stopped ringing then it started getting really hot. When I called customer Service they said it was probably something I did or I used the wrong charger. the next day it started smoking. Soooo when I told them this they sent me a box to mail it back to have it checked by the manufacturer. I didn’t because I just went out and bought another LG. My bad….two more phones and no internet service on the last one and I had had it. I demanded I speak with the floor manager after the girl told me there was nothing she could do but send me a box and have me wait 10 days to recieve another…..ten days without a phone…My phone had been re-called…they are upgrading mine to the slider…..I will buy the slider and transfer my info to that one but I will still mail back the LG and get another……..seriously……..just get verizon

Actualy I do! If I google ‘Recall on LG 220’….but as you can see they have removed her review just as hey did to over 192 people on here. So this is whats called silencing…..See the phones are made in batches….those serial numbers under your bettery tell them …where…and what time your phone was made…You should research what it takes to make a recall happen….X amount of people have to die or gotten hurt…. X amount of people have to complain….x amount of complaints must be filed with the Attorney General…… Why do I know this???? Becuase My friend was in one of those Toyota’s that was recalled….So after spending months in a lawyers office I think I know about recalls….So consider your self lucky your phone works. I on the other hand am not so lucky…So i suggest you take your working phone and call someone who cares whether you beleive me or anyone else….How about this…you call ST and tell them your phone charger is sizziling and your phone won’t ring at an audible tone and its burnng up….watch how quick they send you a little box…. Now back to Verizon….Verizon has one of the best Customer service networks out there….ST??? I DONT UNDERSTAND A DAMN WORD THEY SAY!!!!!!!! My name is Christine Heffelfinger I am a Digital Marketer from Columbus Ohio and I say STRAIGHT TALKS LG220 IS THE WORST PHONE OUT THERE AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO BAD I WOULD RATHER CUT MY WRISTS THEN RELOAD MY MINUTES …oh yeah the prepaid option on the phone DOES NOT WORK………Steer Clear of this phone

I have had Verison even before when it was Altell, and AT &T, so I think I’m pretty qualified to give my opinion. I love the affordability of the program and I do get good service whereever I go. I live in AR but my phone has done well on trips to FL and layovers to there and whatnot. However, the customer support is poor. Currently, my LG is telling me the ‘internet service is not enabled’ even though I have the unlimited plan. I completely reset my phone with the guy twice, doing exactly as he said. But upon telling him that I couldn’t go to the browser like normal because this weird screen came up, he had no clue what to do. I’m still trying to figure out what is wrong. Plus, other times I’ve called to refill etc., their accents do tend to be hard to understand. Reception is fair, better than I had with AT &T, affordability is great, but customer support is lacking.

I know that I am wasting my time writing this because all negative reviews get ‘deleted’.Straighttalk is the worst possible choice anyone could make.Forget CS the product simply stinks. The only people who give it credit are the ones who can not get a cell phone and have to go for a contract free phone. These people are just happy to have a phone and of course they are going to say positive things about it.If you can can get a contract phone,go with Verizon Wireless. You will get a signal everywhere because the phone will roam.ST will not roam.Isn.t it worth paying the extra to know your phone will work when you need it!

I have had Straight Talk using the 45 dollar unlimited plan for over a month now. I read the negativity on here but disagree. To begin with, if you are wanting to surf the web like a blackberry, it’s not happening. I can google and use quite a few web sites, but theres no fancy stuff. I learned how to get mobile radar by saving site I googled as bookmark. There are no application downloads as I had with Sprint PCS. I agree, that they advertise it to seem lot’s better, but I’m not a heavy internet user from my phone and it’s good enough for me. I can make calls in places I never could with Sprint due to now using the Verizon network and even was able to get out at Lake of the Ozarks. I have had no problems with calls. I buy 45 dollar card ahead of time and have phone calender set to sound alarm when it’s time to renew. Phone card is better than auto bank withdrawl due to taxes added with auto method. If you use to a fancy do it all phone, you may not like it. If you want a very cheap unlimited plan with no frills, you cant beat it. Just my point of view.

Know why Wal-Mart’s prices are so low??? Cuz there making tons on money on a ‘Great Phone Plan’ ONLY to have to have the customers REPLACE THE DAMN PHONE TO USE THAT ‘Great Plan’ every 6 weeks!!!! Kind of makes this ‘Great plan’ a bit expensive!! Was told the phone was defective.(Just like many other people were told) Well THEY know it, but does anyone get their money back???? NO – THEREFORE Lower PRICES AT WAL-MART!! Guess your a winner as long as your not paying for the rest of the stores crap by buying their phones!!

I have had no problems with phone, works great. I read the bad on here and wonder if some of you people were born yesterday. Whay number for anything can you call and understand the people now days? I just traveled from kansas to oregon and back with complete service. I do wish that they had a better phone selection. Guess I was just lucky, seems everyone else whines and whines like a bunch of itty bitty babies. Heres your silver platter with your pacifier and a fresh diaper. If you dont like it, sell your phone on ebay and get another phone company. You dont have a early out contract fee to pay. I wouldnt doubt if most of the complainers are unable to pay their old cell phone bills because they are wasting money on useless items and want the high dollar service cheap and are crying because it didnt go their way. I understand that some of you may have real issues and I hope the best for you and disregard my criticism. you can buy a defective anything out there.. cars, houses, condoms and food. I’m retty sure that most of you whiners are working for other cell companies, its kind of obvious.

At the Verizon Wireless site http://www.verizonwireless.com , if you compare the ‘red’ regular Verizon wireless coverage near Onalaska, WA with the ‘purple’ prepaid coverage near there, that will explain why there is a difference between the Verizon and ST coverage in that area.

I’ve had the Samsung 451 Qwerty for about six months. Never had a problem with CS or service. I’m thinking of getting the 355. Couple of questions: How is CS in transferring my number from one phone to another within ST? Do I have to put in my entire address book again manually or is there another way? I do have a memory card in my 451 but it doesn’t hold my address book. Does the 355 accept the same memory card?

As I look at some of these reviews I have a few questions or should I say comments. To those who say they get excellent reception everywhere because it is on the Verizon network, you must not travel much.ST phones do not roam and if you are not within distance of a Verizon tower you have no signal. There is no way you get a signal everywhere.I bought one of these phones and tried it on my own. They have a lot of issues with ‘dead zones’.I am not here to bash anyone or any carrier.I just do not believe some of the ‘stories’ I am reading. These phones do not work like regular Verizon Wireless phones. There is no comparison.

To Harvey. I agree that some stories may be exxergerated on this website. However, for those of you who really want to know about service… my family do roadtrips throughout the year. Upstate SC to Upstate NY. Go through I-85, 77, 81 and 88. I had one dead zone which was in the mountains of PA, I guess somewhere near Scranton. It lasted for about five minutes and that was it. We also do trips to Florida using I-85 and 75 and have not had a dead zone yet (but have only done this return trip once since I got this phone).

Just finish talking to CS to turn off the pre-call vioce. it was very nice experience. I did not call right after I got my phone ( I activated it online) because I had read a lot of negtive comments about CS. Also I was more worried about my English since I have only been US. 3.5 years. But the pre-call voice was really annoying, so I decided to give a shot this afternoon. It turned out evry good. I waited about 10 seconds before someone talked to me, I was told need 1 houre waiting though. Her english was very good as my view, at least better than the one in Metro PC I was talking to before I decided to go for ST. I like my phone so far and look forward to more excitement

JUST WANTED TO SAY YOU CAN’T BEAT THE PRICE OF ST. I HAVE THE $30.00 PER MONTH PLAN AND DONT EVEN USE IT ALL. AND ….. THE MINS,TEXT, AND WEB ROLL OVER ! PLUS +++ I CALLED CHASE BANK AND THEY HAD SOMEONE IN CS IN THE PHILAPINES. HAD TO TALK SLOW AND CLEAR AND BE PATIENT. CS AT ST WILL HELP IF YOU ARE NICE TO THEM AND TALK SLOW. REMEMBER IF YOU ADD UP WHAT YOU SAVE EACH MONTH (FOR ME I’VE GONE FROM $80.00 A MONTH (FROMER SPRINT CUSTOMER) TO $30.00 A MONTH IT’S A BOAT LOAD OF MONEY AND THATS WHY CS IS IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. I AGREE WITH PEOPLE WHO WRITE ON HERE ABOUT ST CUST SVC BEING SO BAD TO SCARE NEW PEOPLE. IT’S NOT TRUE IF YOU LEARN HOW TO TALK TO A PERSON WHO’S 1ST LANGUAGE IS NOT ENGLISH. I MEET PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD EVER DAY LIVING IN SOUTH BEACH(MIAMI BEACH ,FL) AND FIND A WAY TO HAVE A CONVERASATION EVEN WITH PEOPLE WHO KNOW CLOSE TO NO ENGLISH. IT’S JUST THE NORM OF MY EVERY DAY LIFE WHEN IM OUT BY THE OCEAN WHERE MY CONDO IS. PLEASE BE PATIENT AND SPEAK SLOW AND CLEAR AND YOU WILL GET RESULTS. IF THE CS PERSON MAKES AN ERROR TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND EXPLAIN WHAT YOU NEED TO USING DIFFERENT WORDS AND THAT WILL HELP SOLVE WHAT YOU NEED. I’VE BEEN WITH ST SINCE DEC 09′ AND NOT ONE PROBLEM ! STAIGHT TALK GETS NOT 5 STARS BUT 10 ********** STARS ! I ALWAYS WISHED I COULD HAVE A CELL PHONE TO USE ALL ACROSS THE USA AND PAY MAYBE 25 OR 30 $ PER MONTH BUT NOTHING EVER EXISTED UNTIL STRAIGHT TALK. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK STRAIGHT TALK. for all strait talk people who want ring tones or to text abroad. i have family in the uk and when i switched i thought it solve the high cost of international texting. nope just cant do it so i tried gmail talk and it super slow but i have found the answer to all this and here it is.it is FREE btw because it is web based not cell tower based. first you need to go to a free site got cut and dub your sound or song you want. personally i like http://www.iwfr.net/mp3toringtone/index.php?reset=true ……or…… http://makeownringtone.com/ both are super easy and no signing up then you hit upload and it take you inside your files find the file you like and upload it. then when it is done the best way is to select the part of the song you like the best set it to mp3 and then create ring tone and down load it to your pc now you have your own personal ring tone forever on your pc. now here is the little know part that will save you a bundle and a ton of hassles get you cell go to pic message and send a pic message to your email when you see it in your email it has a to and from space that from space is your phone personal web address for pic messages. every cell has 3 numbers assigned to it but most people dont know that. your talk 10 digit number, your text web address, and you pic text web address. now if you sent a text to your email it will remove the sound from the ring tone but a pic one will not. {that how you get the have a merry christmas card text} so then when you get your pic text you then know you phones pic text web address {if you want your reg text address all you have to do is text your email ‘testing’ and it will show you that too} now on strait talk mine is like this {} that is the pic text web address if your number was 555-678-9034 and for reg text it would be but this one just text no sounds or pics all cell have one and every carrier is diff so you will have to email yourself to fig out what yours is. now when you fig that at you hit compose email and type your pic message cell address in … in this case i was using 5556789034To mypixmessages.com. go to attach file and attach your new ring tone you just made. ‘my 2 fav are the last verse of one of my fav songs and the middle of the veggie tales cebu song which no one has so i always know when it is my phone ringing’ then hit send and it will send it to your cell just the way you wanted it as a pic message. when you get the message open it and it will start playing. hit options and save as sound. then go into your set sound section of your phone and select that sound as your ring tone. 100% free. i know it sounds like a lot but once you do it once it take just about 2 mins to do the whole process. then you have the perfect ring tone and it can be anything you chose. side note if you ever text out of the country this is also free and you can text any one by typing in their text web address instead of their phone number and it is free no international text fees. all they have to do is text their email and it will tell them their cell web address. it is also on easy way to get email when your out golfing or shopping just tell your friends to email you at your text web address too and it like call forwarding but email forwarding that is switched to a text. that way you will know instantly if you get an important email. works with any email and any cell that has text on it. this is also the way ipods work and why when someone text you from on ipod it is free for them and why it is a smaller number then a 10 digit phone number or a #####To something.com because it running threw that web address. be sure to try this it has been very handy for me to know my pic and text message web address. instead of calling international or opening my slow internet browser on my cell to see if i got an email i just gave out my text message web address and i get instant text/emails with an alarm that is the end of my fav song and i did not pay a penny for it as most things i do. the best things in life are really free if you bored enough and cheap enough to fig them out hahaha good luck

i have that same phone nancy and im in ga. one thing i do know is if you turn it up it loud enough for me to hear if i lay it on my desk and not to my ear. i have good hearing but not perfect. that is without the speaker phone on. just on high so if you push the little speaker button and then hold it to your ear it really loud. there no way i could stand it. so maybe try that and see if you can hear it. sounded like someone screaming in my ear so maybe that will help thanks

My Verizon phone broke with 6 weeks left on my contract. They only way they would help me was for me to extend my contract for 2 years. GOOD-BYE! Happy with my straight talk phone here in Tampa Bay. Am having a couple of issues though. Has anyone figured out these issues: 1. I cannot get the pause or wait functions to to work when dialing a contract. Has anyone else had problems with this? The call with the pause or wait programmed in fails to connect and ab-ends the call. 2. How do you turn off the block on the premium messaging? 3. Is there there a way to add your password to the voicemail shortcut (speed dial 1) 4. Able to download ring tones using a chip. Told the phone to save it into memory and it works great 5. Not able to sync contacts with outlook, but was able to use the bluetooth feature to one by one transfer my numbers to the new phone All and all a great service jerold.crawfordTo gmail.com

Also why does it say 1x on my display?’ It’s technical, but here’s what it’s about: ‘CDMA2000 1X (IS-2000), also known as 1x and 1xRTT, is the core CDMA2000 wireless air interface standard…The 1X standard supports packet data speeds of up to 153 kbps with real world data transmission averaging 60–100 kbps in most commercial applications….’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1x

Straight Talk is great! Ive been using it for a month now and I have to say its great. I started out with 16hrs 40min (1000min) and I still have 4hrs to burn in 4 days and ive been using this thing what seems like non stop to me. Oh and the texting and web service is good too. I havent been on the web too much as I find the samsung slider a bit clunky on the web but didnt have 300 bucks for the better phone that probably surfs much better. I would like to be able to add multiple 30day cards to my account so i dont have to worry about it. But no problem Ill just pick up 6 at a time and put 3 in the car and 3 at home. I just got a text from straight talk letting my know my account expires in 4 days…which is a nice feature. I havent had coverage issues but I dont travel much. I like how anonymous it is – I bought the phone and card with cash. you call the number and enter your prepaid card number thats it!! they dont even know my name. They do ask for your zip code but thats only to give you a local phone number…heck next time i might pick an alaskan zip code to mess with my friends. lol

I have had this service for approx. 6 months now. The telephone service works fine with good reception, few dropped calls. However, customer service is extremely poor! Off-shore reps seem to be reading from a manual and rarely understand the problem. I have been told several times that a supervisor will call me back but never does and the problems continue. I was unable to access website ringtones and after 6 months, still cannot access my personal account information. They tell me they will work on it and call me but same problem. If you are enrolled in auto-refill and run out of minutes and refill your account using a card, they will charge your credit card anyway thus charging you double! So, I cancelled my auto-refill as a result.

The only way I have found to get pictures into the ‘your’ folder on the LG220 is to make yourself a web-mail account (Yahoo free) and sent a picture to it… then go online with your phones browser and log into the the we3b-mail account and check your email. It will tell you if you have any attachments and if so, you can choose to download and save them to the phones ‘My Folder’… You can then use the photos to set as wallpaper or caller ID’s or whatever…

I left AT &T in late January 10, went with Boost Mobile. Bad idea. Reception was horrible, had it for 3 weeks moved over to Straight Talk 3 weeks later. I got a nice phone at a resonable cost, and then purchased the unlimited plan for just $45.00 a month. I’ve had it for almost 2 months now, and I think it is a good service. No an Excellent Service.

They solved it in like 10 mins and I am back to using my phone again..Thank God.

I have Verizon for 10 years but hated the price. I switched over to ST in January. I do not see any reception difference. HOWEVER, their website does not allow a change in credit cards. I have contacted customer service 4 times to change the credit card. The rep was unable to access that part of my account at that moment. Each time a manager placed a service request with their head office to resolve this issue. I never received a follow up call or email like they promised. I am stuck using the same credit card. What if someone switched banks and needed to update the bank card?

Dropped my 4 lines with Metro PCS when I saw this unlimited nationwide pay by the month plan, Phone works anywhere a Verizon phone does and it’s less than half the cost of Verizons Unlimited plan. I loved metro pcs, and if they had this coverage, I would have stayed, but I’m perfectly happy with ST now.

Just switched over from Tracfone to Straight Talk. The signal is excellent. Porting the number was quick and easy. Since we have dealt with the Tracfone family for several years now, we already new that customer service isn’t the best, but since the price is right, I can’t complain! Highly recommend this cell server for people on limited budgets and that have a bit of patience dealing with any customer service issues that may arise.

Have had the phone 2 months and it incorrectly blocks some land line numbers from calling me. Been trying to resolve this – and have been on hold this morning waiting for a Rep to come on for more than 1 hour. Last time I reached someone and they said they couldn’t support me because I was calling from my Straight Talk phone. Aarrggghh – this is the most frustrating customer service experience I have had with ANY phone company.
