GREAT! I have the 1000 min/1000 text plan and it's only $33.15 TOTAL each month (including taxes, etc). Also, I ported over my old sprint number and it was activated within minutes. I went to Walmart, bought the phone ONLY (didn't buy the card), came home, got online and set up an account and activated my phone. Did all this within half an hour including the trip to Walmart. It went very smoothly – just make sure you know your old service's ACCOUNT NUMBER and your PIN/PASSWORD and you should have no problems. Texting is immediate. No problems. Love it.

Love the plan! I have the Samsung (Messenger) r450 and have had no problems at all. I signed up for the unlimited plan and did not port my old number over. I am a cab driver and live by my phone. I have turned at least 3 other hacks over to it. Yeah the internet is kinda limited but what can you expect for no contract?

If everyone is having a problem with their numbers… could it be due to not reading what comes with the phone? Any phone is going to have a hitch, and since this is a relatively new type of cell deal, people are going to have to expect to have problems. So it's either be grateful that the cell bill will be much lower or stay with the current phone and plan and continue to bitch about how much you get jipped every month. A couple of people have stated that the people at CS speak english as a second language, and they are not incompetant. You just have to be patient, speak clearly and slowly and you might get somewhere. Our accents and drawls are hard to understand at times, as are their accents and drawls. Reception problems? maybe factors weigh in there. phone locking up? they aren't 200 or 300 dollar phones ya know. Of course there's going to be problems. Not able to get through to CS? Again, there probably isn't that many sales rep where the customer service office is, and so there's whiney people out there complaining about not getting prime service and support from a phone and company that isn't as well established as att or whatever. Even att and the other cell phone companies have horrible customer service. I went with att back in 05′ and everytime I called CS I was lucky not to be bald by the time I got off the phone. The phone is pretty well worth it for what you're paying for.

To Emma. Good call, Emma. With all of these posts, there are some basic rules which HAVE worked for people. (1) Follow the directions that came with your phone. Don't automatically call CS, follow the directions first. (2) If you do have to call CS, have a block of time where you can chill, be patient, and show some cultural sensitivity to whomever is working to help you. Don't call CS if you have 5 minutes before you have to go somewhere. (3) People who renew their minutes with a card from Walmart generally fare better than those who have ST charge their credit card every month. (4) These phones are NOT top of the line phones. They are good phones but not including all the bells and whistles you'd get from phones by the larger companies. That being said, don't expect all the bells in whistles and then complain that you don't have them. Thanks.

I have had ST for a little over a week and I have to say it is a lot better than Boost. The text msgs go through quicker and my phone works in areas Boost didn't pick up. CS sucks so prepare to either be on the phone a long time or its busy and you won't get through at all. I ported my number which happened pretty quick but I couldn't actually use my ST service til 5 days later? Outside of that I have no complaints and so far so good with the service. I am currently trying it out so I got the $30 plan but will go ahead and go unlimited next month considering I text a lot and use the web.

Whenever I check my ST balance online I only get the service end date. There is no info about how many minutes and text I have remaining. I know that I have minutes/text left. I am not sure what to do. Customer service has no clue what to do about it either. Anybody else having same issues as me with their balance??

I have been a T Mobile customer for 4 years paying $85.00 per month for 2 cell phones that only gave me 700 min. and nights/weekends. After my daughter purchased her Straight Talk phone, and told my wife and myself about the ‘GREAT' plan she got, that night we both purchased Straight talk phones and cancelled our T Mobile plan. Straight Talk is the way to go.

With respect to Straight Talk coverage being via Verizon towers or not: the answer is Yes. I know for a fact that the service is via Verizon. No one has confirmed the coverage details for me, but if you compare the Straight Talk advertised coverage area with Verizon's prepaid coverage area (i.e. the purple areas – not the red areas) on the Verizon Wireless web site, they match up. The Verizon maps are very detailed, so use those to determine what you will experience. The maps work quite well in my neck of the woods (NW WA State) for that purpose.

Thinking about switching over from my Verizon pre-paid to the ST and buying the Samsumb R355C. If I go to ST website and put in my zip-code it shows that this phone will work. If I go to Walmart online it says it won't work in my area but they do sell this phone at our local Walmart (continually out of stock) Anyone ever ordered from the ST website?

I have had Straight Talk wireless for approx. 6 months now. I like the plans, no contracts and the cell reception is very good. However, the customer service is extremely poor! Off-shore support gets you nowhere as far as technical help and support. The agents rarely can understand your problem and frequently put you on hold to speak with a supervisor who also can't understand your problem. I have been advised several times that an agent would call me back within a certain time frame but they never did. I was unable to access the website's ringtone section until I sent a letter requesting help from their corporate office. Now, I have an unauthorized monthly charge that I am getting nowhere with. Advice: do not enroll in auto-refill! I am still unable to access my account on their website.

I currently have the $30 All You Need plan and I am having a little difficulty. I rely on ST's website to tell me how many minutes and texts I currently have left. Well last night I went on the website and put my cell number in at the ‘Check Your Balance' page. After it loaded it only told me my service end date. I didn't need to know that. The last few times I checked my balance it told me how many minutes, texts, and multimedia I had left along with my service end date. This time just the date. So I tried it again today and I got the same result from last night. Is anyone else having this problem? Oh and I tried it multiple times last night and today. If anyone has reccomendations as to what I should do(I many end up calling customer service) please let me know. Oh and is there a number you can call to check your balance too? Thanks!

I have had my ST phone now for a little over two weeks. And I can't say enough good things about it.I purchased the Samsung R451C phone and purchased the $45 card that includes the unlimited calls, text, web. I thought about purchasing the $30card that gives you 1,000 minutes of talk, text and 30MB of web access, but I wasn't sure how much I would use the web, so thought I would go with the unlimited to start. I decided not to transfer my old cell number to my new ST one, and I did not need to call customer service to do it. I just followed the directions included with my phone and went online to get myself activated and create my new number. It was a very simple process, and someone that doesn't have much ‘computer knowledge' I think could do it very easily. My old cell phone service was AT &T,and for everything that I had on that phone compared to my new ST talk, is the same plus a little more. I had a Sony Ericson AT &T phone and had web capability thru my plan with them, but I guess due to the type of phone I had, I was unable to open any attachments that came with my emails. With my ST phone, I'm able to open all attachments so far. I found the ST phone easy to adapt to. My old AT &T phone did not have a keyboard and this new ST one does, and I love it. WalMart had one higher priced ST phone than the one I bought and if I remember the price correctly, it was around $129. I didn't buy that phone strictly based on the fact that I felt the key pads were very small and I didn't like that. The huge thing I like about the ST talk phone is of course the price. I was paying AT &T $100 a month with a 2-year service contract vs. now paying $45 for my ST plan, plus virtually getting everything on my ST phone that I had on my AT &T one. I have read many reviews about the ST phone and it seems the one thing that people are most unhappy about is the customer service. I have not had to call customer service yet so I can not comment on it. Shortly after purchasing my ST phone, I received an email from them thanking me for my purchase and it was noted in that email that ST is coming out with more calling plans. I am interested in seeing what those plans will be. So far, the reception has been excellent. I have not had any dropped calls. I have family all over the U.S. and I can hear everyone crystal clear. Two huge things I use my cell phone for is texting and I love to be able to check the weather when I want to. It's easy to text on this phone and easy to get into the weather. I don't think I will do an automatic payment with a credit card. I shop at WalMart enough so I will just pick up my $45 card when I shop. When I bought the phone, I went to WalMart early in the morning so I would have the complete attention of the sales associate back in electronics as that department can get busy during the rest of the day. The sales associated I talked to was extremely helpful and very knowledgable. My 15 year old nephew has the Boost mobile phone with the $50 a month plan. I asked him if he could get his emails thru that phone and he said no. Now I don't know if that is true or just a '15 year old' talking. But I have had no problems in accessing my emails on my new ST phone. All in all, I love this phone. Everything is good so far. Good job ST!

THE REASON I KNOW THIS INFO IS TRUE IS BECAUSE WE CALLED HIS PHONE SEVERAL TIMES AND HE DIDNT ANSWER IT AND FINALLY ONE TIME THE OWNER ANSWERED AND THATS HOW WE FOUND OUT. IF MY SON CALLS HIS VOICEMAIL HE GETS THIS PERSONS VOICEMAIL AND CANT GET HIS OWN MESSAGES BECAUSE OF COURSE IT WONT ACCEPT HIS PASSWORD BECUASE ITS NOT HIS MAILBOX. Have only had the phone for a week and so far so good. I didnt do a number transfer, so cant comment on that. I called the activation number and after a short wait on phone and having to request for another employee who could speak better english, was rolling with new phone. Worked within a few minutes of calling them. The phone is ok for checking email and looking up things on google, but thats about it. Phone does not allow big time applications such as a 3G plan. I started with the 45 dollar plan, but probably will switch to the 30 dollar plan since 1000 mins, 1000 texts and 30MB's of web will do me fine. If your desiring fancy web surfing, your not getting it. If you want to spend 45 bucks per month for unlimited everything, its quite a deal. I will buy the minutes cards instead of the auto bank withdrawl due to noticing another 4 dollars is added on for taxes with autopay. I gave it only 3 stars due to not having it very long.

I ported my mobile number online and it was active in two days, with no issues. Today, I accidently erased a notification for a ringtone download, and when I called CS, the agent was extremely helpful and tried several different soulutions until she was able to retrive my ringtone. I was very leary when I was originaly going to buy this phone due to the mixed reviews on this site, but I am very glad I did. I am 100% satisified with my phone. My only complaint is that there are no games avaiable for my phone, and that is not even a big deal.

I GIVE ST 10 STARS ********** I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER SINCE DEC. 09. LOOKED HIGH AND LOW HOW TO LOWER MY CELL BILL. HELPED A FRIEND WHO MOVED HERE FROM BRAZIL IN AUG. 09′ TO DECIDED BETWEEN BOOST OR METROPCS. ST WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME IN MY AREA (MIAMI, FL) I WAS PAYING 80.00 PER MONTH TO SPRINT AND I WORK A LOT FROM HOME SO WAS WASTING MONEY EVERY 4 WEEKS JUST TO KEEP A CELL PHONE. NOW I SPEND 30.00 PLUS JUST THE STATE TAXES LIKE BUYING A ARTICLE OF CLOTHING AND GET 1000 MINS 1000 TEXTS AND ENOUGH WEB TO CHECK MY EMAIL. THE BEST PART ABOUT IT IS IF YOU WRITE DOWN THE DATE AND EXACT TIME WHEN YOU ADD YOUR MINS EVERY 30 DAYS AND REFILLS THE MINS BEFORE THE TIME ON THE 30TH DAY.THE MINS, TEXTS AND MB OF DATA ROLL OVER EVERY TIME. ROLL OVER YES. ST DOIESNT TELL YOU THIS… I HAVE NEVER HAD A DROPPED CALL ONCE. I CAN ONLY ASSUME VERIZON IN WELL SERVICEDIN THE SOUTH FLORDA AREA. PLUS MY NUMBER WAS PORTED FROM SPRINT AT THE SAME TIME I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH CUST. SVC AT STRAIGHT TALK. I HUNG UP MY SPRINT CELL PH AFTER SPEAKING WITH ST AND THE SPRINT PHONE WENT DEAD. I LOOKED AT THE NEW ST PHONE AND IT WAS WORKING. IT HAPPENED SO FAST ! BUT BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR PASS CODE FOR YOU NUMBER YOU ARE PORTING OVER AND EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT PERFECT. I CALLED SPRIEND AND ST BEFORE I DROVE OVER TO WALMART AND PURCHASED MY ST PHONE. I BOUGHT THE CAR CHARGER AND DID THE PORT IN MINS IN THE PARKING LOT OF WALMART RIGHT AFTER I LEFT THE STORE. I WILL SAY I CALLED AT 630 PM AT NIGHT AND MAYBE THAT IS WHY I DIDNT HOLD VERY LONG TO SPEAK TO CUST SVC. ALSO SINCE I LIVE IN MIAMI (SOUTH BEACH TO BE EXACT) I MEET PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD EVERY DAY. SPEAK CLEAR AND MAYBE A LITTLE BITE SLOWER AND CUSTOMER SEVERICE WILL HELP YOU IF YOU ARE POLITE TO THEM. I CAN TALK WITH MANY PEOPLE WHO KNOW 10 % ENGLISH. THE PEOPLE DO KNOW ENGLISH BUT IT IS NOT THEIR 1ST LANGUAGE SO BE PATIENT AND SPEAK SLOW AND CLEAR. I KNOW THIS FROM BEING AN ENGLISH TEACHER TEACHING ADULTS ENGLISH. I LOVE SPENDING JUST 30.00 FOR CELL SERVICE AND I LOVE THE 100.00 SAMSUNG PHONE TO TEXT. SURE I HAVE MANY FRIENDS WITH IPHONES BUT I DONT NEED TO HAVE A 100 PLUS FCC STATE FEDERAL TAXES AND MORE TAXES AND FEES EACH MONTH. THOSE 4 WEEKS GO BY FAST… MAYBE BEING WITH ST I CAN USE THE MONEY I SAVE FOR A NICE TRIP THIS SUMMER. AGAIN I GIVE STRAIGHT TALK NOT 5 STARS BUT 10 STARS ********** THANKS ST FOR GIVING THE CONTRACT PHONES A LOT OF COMPITION. THERE IS NOTHING ON THE MARKET LIKE THIS AND IT'S ALL THROUGH SHARP CLEAR VERIZON SERVICE AT MORE THAN 1/2 THE PRICE! I LOVE IT AND WOULD TELL EVERYONE TO SIGN UP AND DROP THOSE 2 YR CONTACTS AND FANCY PHONES. AFTER ALL THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO BE ABLE TO TALK IT'S A CELL PHONE NOT A LAP TOP. THANKS FOR READING… IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS LET ME KNOW… BEST, DJ

First let me start off by saying,'I've had a cell phone since they were bricks'.I have been with every carrier, mostly because of switching due to my company.I had to finally purchase my own cell and did a lot of research, which is what I do for a living.Funny thing was everything seem to lead to Straight talk,no contract,no charges from out of thin air.A single 30 dollars a month for more minutes than I'll ever use,1000 texts and web. After 4 months I'm totally convinced this is a great way to save, granted customer service sucks, but what I get in return makes up for it.Oh yea, forgot to mention that all my unused minutes and texts roll over to the next month when I re-up my account online.Bet you didn't know that.So go on and keep spending the $69 a month which means $80 in Big cell company money.

I have had ST cell phone service for five months. I started with the $30 plan and continued to have my Sprint phone on. I was so impressed cs and the phone; that I terminated my service with Sprint. I had a family plan with Sprint and just wanted to terminate my plan; however, without notice they terminated my mother's plan a month later. When I called them, they stated that I requested this. When asked about having the phone turned back on, I was told that I would be under another contract. Well, I didn't. . . go figure. This really enraged me; so in the end I terminated the other phones. To date, myself, mother, husband and son have ST phones. Mom's rollover because she has the auto-refill plan; which is great. The rest have the unlimited plan and we are absolutely ‘satisfied'. Customer Service is nice, professional and competent. We had to have one phone transfered because a phone was last; another broke and was replaced; one return to upgrade; and the camera wasn't working on the LG290 and this was fixed over-the-phone with Customer Service. We are saving a boat-load-of-money and recieve better service from ST than Sprint. We had Sprint for seven years at about $230/month. STRAIGHT-TALK is Great!!! I have recommended this service to others. All of my son's friends have subscribed along with others. Thank you STRAIGHT-TALK; you are the greatest in the cell phone industry. By the way, the contract companies also outsource their customer service services too!!

I was tired of paying the high prices at Verizon. My plan (at Verizon) had no data – only talk and text, and neither of those were unlimited. I switched over to Straight Talk and signed up for the $30/mo plan. It took several calls and several hours on the phone with customer service to get the phone set up. I was traveling a lot, so after two weeks I ran out of minutes. I called ST customer service and switched to the unlimited plan. I also signed up for auto renewal. The cs rep assured me that the new contract date would reflect the changes. He also took the ‘you have blah blah blah minutes' recording off. The recording stayed on as long as I had the phone. Two weeks after I signed up for the unlimited plan, my phone stopped working – exactly a month after I got the phone. I tried calling cs and got a recording that they were having a large volume of calls and I needed to call back another time. I went straight to Sprint and signed up with them. After two days, Sprint still couldn't get my number ported over from ST. Because ST had shut off my phone, they wouldn't give Sprint the number. The phone never should have been shut off if they had corrected the contract date like they said they were going to. Like another ST user, I lost my number that I had for 10 years. I tried calling ST to try to sort it out but got the same ‘we're too busy to talk to you' recording. I didn't mind that it was outsourced to India, because when I could get someone on the phone, they were always nice and I could usually understand them. Apparently, they just didn't do what they said they were going to do. The sales person at Sprint said that I could reactivate my ST phone and then they could still port the number over, but at this point, I think that's almost more trouble than it's worth. I've already given my new number to everyone, and who knows if I'd ever be able to get ahold of ST again! I would not recommend ST to anyone.

Thus the ‘hole' in the ‘Brooke' horror story. Is ‘Brooke' selling Sprint?

I am on the $30 plan and have never used my 1000 minutes per month. This is by far the best plan for the money if you just want to make phone calls or text and have just occasional need for the web. One strange thing is this ‘New' plan ST is offering for 3 months, 6 months or 1 year…it still comes out to $45 per month. So, why would anyone want to pay in advance? Unless ST is planning on a rate increase. I sure hope that isn't the case.

So, when my auto-pay did not process due to credit card cancellation for fraud ST shut off my phone at 12:01 AM March 15 at a time customer service is closed and online would not let me give a new credit card number -said you had to call for such change. Then when I called on March 15, at 8 a.m. they wanted to charge new card that day and start my cycle on March 15 rather than March 19 which was 30 day mark. ST should have called when the credit card was not working or sent me an email esp since I still had 4 days left on contact. Otherwise, when it works, it's a great plan.

Also, why bother with the new plans – it's the same price and you prepay for months in advance and lock yourself in for that time period. At least give us a discount for going with a 6 or 12 month planned PREPAID. I'll just do the monthly auto-pay –; why let them earn interest on my money for the same price plan or what if they go out of business within 6 months – you'll just be out the money.

Now the cat is out of the bag. All those that have ‘lost' their numbers should have known to buy the 2nd phone and transfer the number from the defective phone before returning it. All that I see from complainers is they wanted ‘something first' and it cost them. So for all those out there that read this stuff disregard all the grips about lost numbers and know – should you need to change phones and want to keep your number FIRST transfer the number to a new phone THEN return the defective one to WalMart. Very simple process and you won't fall into the trap of all those who wanted ‘something first'.

Looks like the competition is out in force on this message board. I have had ST now for 3 months. Activated online with card purchased at Walmart. Up and running in 5 minutes. Browser, Text, Voice calls work just fine. Reload online with card purchased at Walmart, never a problem. To the dumbass that whines about rounding up minutes…..ALL CELL PROVIDERS DO IT! I am certain most of these negative comments come from the ‘well dressed sales staff' at the ‘Big Three' showrooms that fear they will lose their jobs locking people into long contracts and overpriced plans. Do like I did and try the service for three or four months BEFORE you port your number. In my opinion you can not beat the price. By the way, I have never had to call the ‘lousy' customer service. What customer service doesn't suck in this day and age anyhow?

Customer service is awful! I purchased 2 straighttalk phones just over a month ago. My husband had no problem refilling his phone, but when he tried to refill my phone he was informed that my phone number was not a straight talk phone number. It was the number they gave me in the first place. Well, I have been without a phone for THREE days now and they are telling me to give them 24-72 hours to resove the issue. That is too slow! So I may be without a phone for a whole week! I need my phone for work; I have children who may need to contact me at a moments notice, and this is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

I've had my phone about a month. I had read negative reviews about customer service and slow activation when you port your phone number. I can say that if you read the agreement ever single thing that people complain about is addressed there. That being said, I have had nothing but positive experience with this phone! I had a Verizon LG and the charger kept breaking (5 times in the last 1 1/2 yrs); I got the Samsun with full keyboard. I so love this phone, it takes way better pictures, and is overall just a nicer phone. I had no problem porting over my old Verizon number and have had the same service I had prior to getting Straight talk. I do the 1000 mins & 1000 texts. I am using no where near that amt and have signed up for auto recharge so I don't have to worry about anyting. The only SLIGHT annoyance is that every single call begins with how many hours & minutes you have left…slightly annoying but then you always know where you are on the plan. I have not had to use customer serivce; but would probably just not try to use them if I found myself in that position. So far I HIGHLY recommend this service. NO contracts that you have to pay crazy fees to get out of and then you get a little phone credit, buy a new phone and your wrapped into another 2 yrs stuck with them. NO MORE!! Verizon called me to with a ‘special' offer…couldn't come close to this. Love it…and I don't work for Straight Talk either..I just want everyone to know this is a great service!

I have been getting ripped off by AT and T for years. I went to Walmart, bought a new To $100 Straight Talk phone and got home to find really bad reception. I returned that phone after transferring my cell number over and bought a different phone. I have now been on the phone with Straight Talk for over an hour and after two calls to their customer service/tech dept, I have now lost the phone number I had for over 10 years. Their support people are nice, but totally incompetent, ill trained and do not know how to spell in English because they are located in Guatemela. I actually love Guatemala, but it is really annoying to have people not know how to spell anything, but routine spelling and not understand what they are doing. THIS IS NOT A GOOD COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS, UNLESS EVERYTHING IS SIMPLE. AS I STATED, I HAVE NOW LOST MY CELL NUMBER OF TEN YEARS THAT I ORIGINALLY TRANSFERRED OVER.

You can get your phone number back. The 2nd time I had to change phones, which means I had to take back the 1st phone to walmart and get the new one because I was having dropped calls, so once it is returned, the phone is deactivated. The lady at the store said only the phone is deactivated, not my ST account. That is wrong, I lost my number. I called ST to activate the new number, not realizing my number was gone at the time. I told them I was transferring my number over and I told them the story about returning the other phone and that I wanted to transfer my phone number (I've had for 4 years) to the new phone. He asked for the number and said that this number was not activate and couldn't be transferred and I ended up with another number. I told them I had to have that number for numerous reasons. Once I got off the phone with ST, I called someone just to activate the number and start receiving incoming calls. So I went into the phone to double check the number and it was a different number, I was really mad and hurt, they said I could keep my number. So I called back about 5 minutes later, asking to speak to their supervisor. They asked what it was about and I told them. They never got their supervisor for me. They could hear in my voice I was mad and I kept asking for supervisor. So I don't know what all they did on their end, but they did keep asking for the number I had (for 4 years) and they did something and got it back for me. I still have my number of 4 years as of today. So it is not impossible for you to get your number back. Just like when I was switching from ST to AT &T and thought I was losing my number inbetween times because it was time for my ST payment, the AT &T lady said that since the port was in progress that my number was AT &T and not to worry and even if I did lose the number, no one else can receive it until 6 months later, so you still have a lot of time to get it back. Just let me know how it goes and if you get it back or not. Dolphin (gsipe09To aol.com)

Straight talk is a rip off. Their customer service is incompetent as well. You get less than what you pay for. Minutes are rounded UP to the nearest minute. You even have to pay for calls when no one answers or when the other line is busy. A 2 second phone call always call uses 1 minute ,even if there is no answer. Read the contract carefully before you buy this phone. I wish I had.

I don't have a problem downloading ringtones or wallpaper, and as of yet I haven't had to use 411. Customer service could stand to be alot better, but other than that I'm really happy I switched from US Cellular, their prepaid is expensive and their coverage area sucks.

What a horrible prepaid provider. It seems like what you save on service costs gets taken out of the quality of customer service. I've been a customer for about 6 months with a Samsung Messenger. In that time frame I have learned that the customer service for Straight Talk stinks. There's the classic marks of a bad call center – they have problems hearing you, there's static on the line, dropped calls, etc. all indicating that proper care is not put in to the phone systems. The representatives usually have poor technical knowledge and can confuse anyone, including someone that is technologically proficient like me. They would benefit from using a system that automatically walks the customer through activation instead of relying on their reps to do it. However, once one got past that, the service was descent. No dropped calls, good coverage, etc. BUT something happened today that has me determined to ensure that I and my family/friends never use their service again. I switched over to another provider because I got a smart phone and needed 3g service. I got an email from Straight Talk today informing me my automatic payment was made before I could cancel my Straight Talk account. I figured it would be ok since the payment was just made and I haven't used any of the service. I was dead wrong. First, the rep tried to tell me the transaction was made two days ago and therefore it was too late to do anything about it. I pointed out that I didn't get the email until today informing me of the transaction and my bank account had it pending without a date, which indicated the transaction was just made today. It was then that she got blunter and told me that Straight Talk WILL NOT REFUND ANY MONEY THEY TAKE OFF A CREDIT CARD OR BANK ACCOUNT. Not at all, no matter what the circumstances. Fortunately for me my bank was more than happy to stop the transaction from posting to my account after I explained what Straight Talk told me. If a customer returns a new product within a reasonable amount of time without having used it, they have the RIGHT to receive a refund. The same goes for cell phone service. Shame on you Straight Talk and ultimately Tracfone for ripping off your customers. I used to recommend Straight Talk to people that just wanted cheap, basic service and didn't mind horrible customer service. I will not be doing that any more because of this.

I can expectthat the customer service is poor but look at what you pay. Verizon Wireless has gotten so bad with overcharging people. Everyone I know has been paying at least $200 which is ridiculous. $45-Unlimited calling & test. I know that some of you who are posting these negative messages are just jealous b/c the days of overcharging and greed are over. Straight is leveling the playing feel. I have been very dissatisfied with straighttalk. I already due to numerous frustrations with the service (or non service) decided to switch to another phone carrier. My first problem I encountered is setting up the account. The customer service line is constantly busy, and the wait time can be 15 to 20 min or more. When my monthly time came up I renewed it 2 days before the expiration date: I was still cut off even after the expire date. When I finally got through to customer service, after several attempts and days due to its limited service hours, I was finally reconnected, however my web browser was still not activated. That took me several attempts to cut through the busy customer service. I again was cut off the next month even when I again reloaded 4 days prior to expire date. Since they dont have a reload service direct line, you have to go through cust. service; and again wait for service. You have to do this to reload or to check your balance. There were several times when my service went blank due to system overload. Again, I felt very dissatisfied with this service.

Been told numerous times they would send me a new phone, have yet to recieve new phone. I have spent numerous hours on hold. Spent 2.5 hours tonight on hold. I now have researched everyone affliated with this company and am obtaining all the email addresses, from CEO's to stockholders from the parent company down. I plan on sending out a mass email to all, telling them exactly what I have went thru in the last 2 months. If I ever have to hear, ‘I now need to place you on hold for a few minutes while I try to contact another department about this issue.' again, I may just blow a whistle in their ear. I did contact Walmart tonight and they will be refunding me my money, they apologized for everything I have been thru.

Free 411′ on a new LG 290c or 220c means ‘411 & other directory assistance' calls are redirected to 1-800-FREE-411. If you're not familiar with that service, it sucks badly. I have not tested any other new phones, but it's a function of the phone, not the activation. There is a work-around. Dial *411 and you still get Verizon's excellent 411 service. Still, for ST to be advertising ‘free 411' when they are pushing this crap is false advertising. Even with this, and the awful support I received lately (2 hours to try to answer the 411 issue unsucessfully), I am still a loyal ST & TF user, and love the heck out of my LG 290c!

Purchased and activated two st querty phone on Easter Sunday with no problems. The next afternoon..one phone's screen passed away and the phone was unusable. Went back to Walmart and exchanged but they were unsure if I needed to also exchange the plan card. Walmart took the time to call customer service for me and waited 13 minutes to get the answer. I exchanged the phone, came home and called customer service for st and had to wait quite awhile for a human but the customer service rep from st knew her stuff and moved my number over without problem. We tested incoming and outgoing calls. My only ‘problem' now is that I have the unlimited plan and I noticed that the welcome email says I'm on the cheaper plan. However, when I check the balance..I do have the unlimited plan. Also, I don't care for the fact that their website customer service / my account section in down for repair at this moment. I probably won't use the website all that often, but it is not reliable. In the past, I've used Tracfone and LOVED it..went to prepaid Verizon..which I also loved but it was expensive on how I used texts and photos. Very glad to be back with Tracfone in a matter of speaking and am very glad that I still have Verizon reliability. Even though I have had a few ‘glitches' along the way..I'm enjoying the st phones very much!

Zero starts is more live it. My service is very unreliable. I'm switching to another service ASAP. – At least 30% of my calls are dropped mid-call. – Sometimes the phone doesn't ring when people call me; it puts them straight through to voicemail. – Sometimes it tells INCOMING callers I have no minutes and it can't put the call through (Even though I have hundreds of minutes left). – Sometimes it tells me I have the wrong number of minutes, only for me to find out that I actually have very few left. – Sometimes it won't let me make an outgoing call, saying I have no minutes left when I actually have hundreds. – Sometimes voicemails don't show up in my voicemail box until days after they are left. – Sometimes it randomly hacks time off my minutes – minutes I did not use! – The customer service reps cannot speak adequate english to be able to understand and fix the problem. Supervisors are no better. They only know what the computerized scripts tell them to do. If their limited troubleshooting scripts do not reproduce or solve the problem, they just tell you that you don't have a problem. When you do, and the problems continue. HORRIBLE service. Run, don't walk, to another service.
