I've had Straight Talk for over a month now. Love my phone and calling plan, but Straight Talk customer service is hit or miss. I had to call four times – once from a different phone – and spend almost two hours on the phone with them to change my phone number. The first three times I called I got someone who couldn't understand English and kept reciting the same stock phrases over and over. Don't bother asking to speak to a manager/supervisor, because there are never any in the room. The fourth time I called, though, I got only people who were fluent and understandable in English. The first lady easily fixed some misspellings that were keeping me from accessing my account online. Then she transferred me to another woman who was able to change my phone number and remove the annoying ‘status message' before every call. If you are having trouble with customer service, I would advise calling back on another day. The day I got good CS was a Sunday. If the customer service was more consistent, I would give ST five stars.

WIfe seen this phone in wal-mart, I looked up plan and then looked up coverage, shows they covered our area. So with good price plan along with good coverage area =good deal right? Wrong!!!!! Bought two Phone's went to set-up first one and lord be hold went to add the per paid card and no signal could this be right? Got second phone out went to try to set up it thinking maybe something wrong with first phone well luckly I checked for signal first before scratching off the pin on the second unlimited card and of coarse no signal. Now this site says it runs off trac phone and a wifes old trac phone got signal anywhere near our home these DO NOT!!!!!! lucky we was able to take everything back to wal-mart and get refund on all but the one card which had the pin scratched off, With calling customer service to try to get a refund and them having people who cant understand nor speak english. looks as if i only out 45 dollars guess it beats 90 or more. This service sucks, and the customer serivce is worthless. Looks like I will be keeping my Boost mobile for 50 a month

We have had the straight talk plan a month now, starting 2nd month. It all works great, well pleased….no drop calls, full 5 bars service. Our phone is the LG220,..replaces our Verizon LG phone. We ported our landline # to this phone,…got rid of house phone. Our next LG220 purchase will get the Verizon # ported to it. What a deal these are compared to paying landline costs every month, and Verizon, too!! We would have given 5 stars except some features of website dont always work too great [in particular, the auto-refill sign-up]. The first phone was purchased at WalMart,..activated online with a prepaid card..that all went smooth. The landline port took 5 days…….our second phone will be a cell number port,..should take less time.

My company, yes company has now been using ST for about 3 weeks. We went from 470 dollars a month to 128 per month. 2 of the three phones have unlimited. Before we shared 6000 minutes. No contract, no Hastie, buy your phone. When your phone goes weird on you, throw it out and get another. I think the phones are fine, but you can tell they are on the cheaper side. They will come out with better ones for sure. I believe the service is the real deal. i have had absolutely no problems and am saving about 4000 dollars a year. A person who respects value will like this service. Of course they need to check coverage. Spend 30 bucks plus a cheapo phone and try it before you invest in the unlimited and better phone. Good Luck all.

Thanxs Jim u read my mind b/c this is what I would have done before spending big bucks on a prepaid phone and the mins., but my sister had ST before me and we both live in the same town just diff zip codes which is why i wasn't as hesistant to make my purchase. Believe me I still did my research before purchasing ST & doing a lot of complaining after the fact like alot of people. The ST website was very helpful to me b/c I just put my zip code in to see if it would work since my sister and I have different zip codes. I've had my phone since Feb. 2010 and has not had a problem with it, ST, or CS. I even upgraded to the touchscreen about 2wks ago. Good Job ST & CS b/c in my opinion you guy are better and cheaper than any prepaid or contract service I've ever owned.

I have had ST for 6 months and had 3 different phones (Razor, Samsung 451, Samsung 810) and everything has worked perfectly on each one. But the only problem I have had with each one is that 90% of the time I have dropped calls within 30 seconds. At first I thought it was the phone so I kept switching but it must be their service for it to happen on all three phones. I have talked to CS several times and they would do software updates, check the lines and the number I got from them and also my ported number and they say everything is ok but it never happens when they test call me. Is there anything that can be done to fix this problem? I would appreciate any information anyone can give, I currently have the Samsung 451 and 810 phones.

The Straight Talk company will rip you off. Both at a retailer and by THEIR maps when you call my area is covered for service. I tried to activate online and the fees were immediately taken from my account. We called customer service about no bars and not being able to activate the phone. Then given a reference number and told to call today. I called today and the representative told me our area is not covered. I can only return the phones. I understand now I'm stuck with not just one but two $45 unlimited cards, but geez they could at least refund the money they took from my account without even activating my phone. I am VERY disappointed with their customer service department and their company overall. It's THEIR fault this happened because if their map didn't show where I live as being covered my husband and I would not have bought the phones. If anyone is interested in purchasing the two $45 unlimited cards please contact me. I only ask that I get what I paid for them. Thank you.

I went to Wal-Mart and bought a straight talk phone. From the beginning my phone did not work because it was a defective phone. When I would be talking on the phone then it would cut my conversation off and give me a message that it couldn't except this number. This went on for some time. During this time I called an spoke to straight talks representatives. Each time they would tell me to take the back of the phone off and take the battery out, then they would tell me to press star and some numbers. Not one time this ever fix my phone. This was very aggravating since, I spent seventy dollars on the phone itself. Not to mention buying the minutes that cost me $50.00 a month. Straight Talk told me to send the old phone back to them and they would replace my phone with another phone that was not defective. The whole trouble was the phone was defective from the start since, I spoke to a straight Talk representative the last time I called them and he told me that some of the phones that went out to Wal-Mart store where defective. This conversation is recorded since they do record the conversations when you call the company. If this company knew that they was selling defective phones then they, by all means, should have replaced my defective phone free of charge. But instead of treating a customer right then they ask me to return the defective phone to them. But by then it wouldn't ring at all, going straight to voice mail as all my friends are witnesses to this. So since I could not here the phone ring then it was misplaced or lost. I do not feel that this was my fault at all since the phone was defective from the beginning. If it had of been a good phone then it would have rang and I could have located it. I tried to explain this to a supervisor at Straight Talk who by the way was very very rude to me. He refused to send me another phone that worked for free. Knowing from the beginning that I had been sold a defective phone. This supervisor did not even try to work with me on this issue.I have never been treated so rude by representatives then the people at straight Talk. The issue was never solved and the superviser at straight talk told me in order to get a phone that worked from them then I would have to mail in my old phone. Which by the way did not ring so I misplaced it and if anyone knows about a phone that does not ring then it is very easy to misplace one or lose onbe this way. If the people at Straight Talk had of done the right thing then, first off they would not sell defective phones. And when they do. They should be responsible enough and care enough about their customers to replace the defective phone free of charge. And when I explained I couldn't locate my old defective phone since, it didn't ring so, I could send it back to them in order for them to send me a phone that worked then, they refused to help me and was just so rude. I hope that someone at this Company contacts me and makes this right. Otherwise I do plan on writing to the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. I do not like to complain but, when a company like Straight Talk is selling defective products and not replacing the defective products for ones that work for free then, it is really unprofessional. And the representative told me that some of the phones that was sent out to Wal=Mart was defective. So please anyone else thinking of buying one of these phones. Be careful if you get a defective phone then Straight Talk will not replace it for free. Very Crooked Business Ethnics in my personal opinion. Thank You very much.

I travel all through the South and Midwest and have never had a dropped call. Bought the new Samsung R355C this afternoon to replace my Smasung Slider. I activated it with the same number via the website and within 10 minutes the phone was up and working. The screen is bigger and it's nice to have access to a full size keyboard. The phone is light and very thin which is great since that was my main complaint with the slider. Overall I'm very pleased.

Called back, same crap again. FINALLY, web access was accessed. Did we get credited ANYTHING for lack of service..heck no. Then it was time to add another $45 to keep service going, the web site & customer service stated that their phone #'s were NOT STRAIGHT TALK #'s…excuse me!! Took a week to get the one phone on and as of today , it has been 2 1/2 weeks of no service on the 2nd phone (but the $45 was added a week ago, so there goes more $ out the door & still no service!) What I want to know too is, when you call customer service & press 1 for English, how come you NEVER get to talk to anyone who can speak CLEAR & UNDERSTANDABLE English!!?? My advise …get Cricket!

Your experience shows me that the ST Rep was lying to me or he did not know what he was talking about when he told me “none of the ST phones is not recognized by computers”. Regarding the problem with my Finesse, the cable data is not defective because I use it for the Samsung Behold that I have prior to switching to ST, and it works fine. The computer that I am using (at work) is only 3 years old with windows XP and the one at home is even newer than that with windows vista. Therefore, I do not see the reason why the computer does not even charge the phone. But, like I said, I’m gonna keep trying and thanks for your help and advice about this issue.

I just purchased a new phone (a slider) at Walmart. Before purchase in Ohio, I called Walmart and called a represenative at Straight Talk, who BOTH confirmed that coverage will be ‘piggybacked' off any Verizon Cell tower. Again, before purchase, I asked if they work in WV and PA if I register it in Ohio, where I live. The answer was Yes! After I spent over 150 dollars, the service started. My number was ‘cleanly' ported from At &T, and service began. It was great, until I reached WV and PA..guess what!? No service! AT ALL! I called from a friends phone, and after talking to straight talk again, I was informed that I need to purchase ‘another' $45.00 card (losing the already spent $45.00 I just paid for two days earlier)..they stated' well, you can get another card, and the towers will pick it up faster'… ??? huh?? I have disputed this with chase, and will be returning this phone and NEVER use the service! If you don't travel, it will be ok (maybe)..but get ready to pay for cards in each city you go to. Don't rely on them saying ‘you have coverage'…Verizon is pretty much everywhere…even here in Morgantown WV..where ‘they' say they have no coverage…SCAM!

I have a straighttalk phone. And i have to say, i am SEVERLEY unimpressed. The audio quality sucks. Messaging is limited, badly. And the internet is pretty much useless. It isnt fast, it isnt good.Another major problem i have with it is that the website doesnt let you do anything to your phone unless you want to enroll in ‘Auto-Pay'. And you cant even load the page from your phone. I mean, i dont even get a better signal than anyone. In fact when i do have a signal, everyone else has a better signal. If all you want is sub par everything, this phone is good for you. But if you want a phone that does anything useful, do what i am about to do and switch to AT &T. For $30/ month more than straight talk, i can have a phone that is actually good for what i need it to be good for. Which is everything.

This time it took 30 minutes with 3 supervisor discussions and then she said she couldn't give a refund. She said she sent an email with the confirmation number; none ever showed up. I've had the service since Dec, 09 and haven't had any problems. Textes and internet work just fine on my phone. The only downfall is that you can only purchase refill cards at Walmart which like for me is like a 20 minute ride. Other than that, great plan for the money and the phones aren't that bad.

Casey when u go 2 mytinyphone.com for free ring tones it is eaiser if u insert ur microSD card into ur computer and save ur ringtone in the My Music folder once u select this folder it gives u the option to rename it which is the best time to do so. Then just remove the sd card and insert it into ur phone and follow the steps of getting to ur multimedia folder or music player folder depending on which phone u have I have the samsung finesse which has these 2 folders separated. Hopes this helps

Lillian try dialing *611 from ur cellphone by doing this I was able to add airtime to my pnone using a card I purchased at walmart but if u have a credit card u can also add airtime this way & here u will also have the option to sign up for auto enroll if need b it cost a little extra depending on what state u live in & they're tax fees for my state (MS) it cost only an additional $1.12 which is a whole lot cheaper than driving 20mins to walmart. I just chose not to enroll at this time b/c I work 5 mins from walmart. Hope this helps

Paul I don't know if u still use ST for service provider or not but if so and U still have the samsung finesse than u can go under setting/phone setting and select #10 (PC connection) then try chosing USB modem by doing so might help ur computer recognize ur phone. In addition, try selecting #9 (calibration) to calibrate ur screen and #8 to adjust ur touch sensitivity by doing these steps might help with the slowness of ur phone. Hope this help

I have had my StraightTalk phone for a week now and I am very impressed with it so far. I purchased the LG290C phone and the $45 unlimited plan and it works great for me. I live in a small town in South Dakota and have had no problems with service area. I would defiantly recommend someone to ST over a contracted phone with a name provider. I am very pleased with my phone and service, thanks ST.

I purchased this straight talk phone on 2/3/10 directly from the company (not Walmart) and they cannot get this phone activated. I Have spent over 10 hours trying to resolve the problem and evey time you call they want an addition 24-48 hours to solve it. I have give them a week and as of today (3/20/10) they still can't find the problem. What I find very interesting is that when I spoke to one of the representatives he indicated that my phone had expired in 1783. That's right 1783. These people are absultely unbelievable. Much to my surprise they told me to return it to WalMart – Hello – I purchased it from you directly – and they still can't find the problem. They tell me the phone belongs to someone else. BUYER BEWARE – these people can't even fix a phone that is purchased from them directly!!!! Now, I have to pay to return the phone for a refund because they can't find the problem. THIS PLACE IS AN ABSOLUTE HEADACHE!!

I have been checking up on Straight Talk's website and Prepaid Reviews multiple times a week beacuse I want to make sure I'm making the right choice, going with this company. Okay so the phone I would like is the Samsung Finesse. So this morning I went on ST's website and visited the phones page. Where the heck did the Finesse go???? It was not on the available phones page or the support page! I visited Walmart's website to see if they were still carrying it and they were! So why is the Finesse not there anymore? Did ST sell out? If they did, Walmart wil probably sell out pretty quickly, and I'm unabe to buy new phone until next month. I read here that ST was getting in 2 new phones. Does anyone happen to know which kind? I hope it is another Samsung touch screen.

I purchased a straight talk phone in November, and have auto pay. In March, my phone was deactivated and my number given to someone else. All my minutes were taken away. On the auto pay day, money was taken out of my checking account, but I did not have a telephone number and was without a phone for five days. The auto pay was scheduled to come out on the 22nd of March, so to compensate for the lost of my phone time, they generousely moved the date to March 19. After spending hours on the phone trying to get my number back and strainghten out this mess, I had to get a new phone number. I would suggest that no go with this company unless they have a lot of time to spend on the phone. I feel that all their reps are taught to talk in circles, and really don't know anything about this product.

I thought the mic didn't work but even when I was speaking straight into it with good service, it was hard for the other person to hear me. The service is horrible. Today my cellphone went up and down the bars of service and now I have no service at all. I'm done with the service company. Cell phone works AMAZING. Straighttalk should be flushed down the toilet like the -stuff- it really is. I'm pissed.

I've been with ST since Feb 5th 2010 and I haven't had any problems with the phone or CS. When I purchased my phone I used my contract phone to activate not the internet, but my sister used the internet it doesn't really matter b/c both phones were activated & working properly in less than 20 mins. My sister did port her cell phone no. which took a little longer for her internet to work properly. We both had the r451c but I have now upgraded to the samsung finesse/R810. At first i thought my upgrade would be difficult b/c I had trouble understandig the rep but I just really listened & in less than 20 mins my phone was upgraded & working properly. I feel like if someone is having trouble with they're phone working properly or getting it activated then they should email Elston his email is elombilloTo tracfone.com if he works for tracfone I'm sure he's been dealing these problems for a while now. I have called cust service every 3 days and they keep telling me they are working on the problem. call us back in 24 to 48 hours. no one can help me! Obviously there is something wrong with the phone. I asked them to send me a replacement phone and they said no. They want me to send my phone to them first and then they will replace it. Why should i have to go without a phone for 2 weeks.I think they have lost their mind. Horrible customer service. No one speaks english. Wish i never would have switched

Service going well, they transported the number quickly. Cannot send pic msgs though, but I haven't called to fix it because getting the service started with customer service was lengthy and frustrating. (communicating with someone who doesn't speak English well is difficult) Otherwise it was working well until I went to renew. My email and password won't work on the website, so I bought the card and waited until it expired last night to get the most out of my minutes, since they don't rollover and your new minutes start getting deducted as soon as you refill, not the expiration date. Went to add the minutes online this morning, it worked quickly. But, what I found out was that the phone completely locks up once it expires. You can't look at your address book or old text msgs at all! I understand the phone won't make or accept calls, but I paid $100 for this phone and I expect to be able to look at my own information on it! Will continue on as I've already invested in the phone and ported my number. May rethink it in the future if I continue to have problems. Never had a problem with not getting service.

Short review for all you out there who are in a hurry and need a short information about either getting a StraightTalk phone or not: STAY AWAY FROM STRAIGHT TALK. No service, no quality, no nothing. Long review will follow because I just have no time to write down everything tight now but all I can say is that I am a professional mobile phone user with over 12 years of experience and tried out almost every single provider. Stay away from Straight Talk. Compared to Europe, phoning in the US is still unbelievable expensive (almost 900% more expensive compared to an unlimited text and minutes service plan for 9 Euro which would be around 15$) but it doesn't worth trying out this new cheap provider because they have just dummies working there with no idea of what they are talking about at all. Stay away. Far away.

BOUGHT THE TOP PHONE THEY SELL AND THE UNLIMITED CARD. PHONE WORKED ABOUT A WEEK. ALL OF A SUDDEN IN THE ACTION OF TEXING THE SERVICE WENT OUT. NOW HERE IT IS A WEEK LATER AND SERVICE STILL IS OUT. I WISH I HAD READ THESE BLOGS FIRST. YES CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS, NOBODY SPEAKS ENGLISH AND YOU WILL BE ON HOLD QUIT A BIT. WITHOUT GETTING YOUR PROBLEM FIXED. I HAVE BEEN CURRENTLY TOLD TO WAIT AGAIN 24 TO 48 HOURS FOR HEAD OFFICE TO GET THIS FIXED. WHICH WILL PUT ME INTO THE WEEKEND IN WHICH THEY ARE CLOSED. SO THE 150.00 I PAID TO GET THIS PHONE AND SERVICE I SEE IS GOING UP IN SMOKE. I WILL BE LEFT WITH A LOT OF NOTHING. TAKE YOUR CHANCES, BUT THINK OF THIS. st is so confusing i dont get it. tried porting my number from boost to st. st couldnt do it and stalled on it for some reason. asked for a new number and they didnt do that til i got walmart to actually call them when i went back to the store and demanded a refund. walmart told me that i was at least the 5th customer in recent days to come in and have them get a phone activated. just under an hour of being in walmart the electronics manager got me activated, but with a new number cause all i kept hearing is that my port was in the process of being changed. yeah right. something very strange and yet so dumbfounding is this. my father wanted to get a st phone for himself. i told him if he did i'd try and port my boost number to his new phone since he remembered the number from calling me. had a feeling it would work on his phone. did it work? you bet. the phone i bought they didnt port the the number after 5 days of begging and pleading but my dads phone it took 20 minutes and the damn number was ported to his phone. unbelieveable. how crazy is that? thats why im thinking that it is just hit or miss with this company. some peeps breeze through and with no problems and others like myself on the first try with them get nothing but bs and very little help from st cs. the walmart associate told me he has noticed that its a matter of getting certain cs associates at st. some are helpful and others are not. bottom line i think their service is awesome given the price and their cs is so very hit or miss. so try it for their decent reception and stuff but cross ur fingers if you have to mess with cs so much beacuse u may end up being totally frustrated with it. great phone service for the money though!!!
